Can a moderate stenosis/stricture due to EOE go away with food elimination diet, steroids, and a PPI? Or only by dilation?

Thank you for your question. Speaking in general terms and not to any specific patient's situation, a moderate stenosis/stricture from EOE can improve with the treatments that you mentioned. When swallowing difficulties persist, a dilation is considered as a next step. The physician screens each patient to determine and recommend if dilating the stricture will lead to the quickest resolution in symptoms.
