So, did my 4Runner Full non-drill installation this morning, and your PDF instructions on your website are completely different than this tutorial video. The PDF says to build the cross rails on the roof instead of on the ground, and it doesn't even mention the RTV silicone at all. I followed the video's instructions, which seemed better, but thought I'd point this out.

Yup. Mine is leaking because I installed this over a year ago, before this video was made. Great stuff. Kinda pisses me off, and CBI is acting like it isn’t their mess of course.

I honestly can't see this video helping any body, PDF and video don't match! you guys didn't even show the rack installed! The silicon seem to be a VERY important part in this installation, as a few people mentioned here before, it would've been super beneficial to show a bit more details, don't understand the rush...

can you put the rails anywhere you like instead of the short elongated slots only? ie. use the longer slots so i can leave the sunroof obstruction free. thanks

Yes you can also place the rails in the longer slots

How'd you cut the excess weather stripping for the front wind deflector?

What size T-nuts are used in the front that slides into the rack? And also the bolts that go into the car? I’m looking to replace all the hardware to stainless steel

T-nuts 1/4 inch. Bolts M8-1.25 x 60mm

You didn’t talk about the last cross bar, is it mounted in the last set of small slots like all the others or vertically using the pairs of holes, and why?

vertically, so it clears the antenna.

No cleaner before sticking feet to roof? I’ve seen some people use some kind of alcohol.

Yes we would recommend cleaning the area first

I got the wrong size spacers, doesn’t go over the plastic part of the bolt hole.

We do not have a specific one just any rated for outdoor use and is waterproof should work great!

Send a T30 bit with the hardware. So dumb that it doesn’t come with that.

Why they aren’t encouraging the use of butyl, I have no idea… the only thing stopping me from buying one of their racks is their bizarre lack of attention over the leaks this mounting technique will cause.

Guys this is a horrible instruction video I can’t tell what’s what or any of the bolts you’re using, you gadda make this more clear on steps and show everything rather than assuming we know what ur talking about the entire time
