I was not expecting her use of the N word, I am in hysterics, LOL. I had to look up the meaning of what she said. A saying that originates from the U.S apparently. And of course there is NO way that would be allowed today. The ''Five Finger Discount'' also made me chuckle.

The young lad who is hiding in the loft space above the house (that the woman are doing up); appears at the end of this episode - his name is 'Peter' and That young man is played by an actor by the name of 'Stefan Dennis', who just a few short years later in 1985 would be cast in 'Neighbours' as 'Paul Robinson'!

Yes your right, in 5 years time he is cast as Paul Robinson which he still plays to this day. Its funny how life is that you never know (good or bad) what is around the corner. Once again it was down to Bea to get some justice done around there...... Just as well that Alison saw sense in the nick of time and befriended the others because a few episodes back Bea would have just left her to it and rightly so. As it is, Colleen has been cut down to size and made to see that she cannot throw her weight around without creating problems for herself in doing so. I've said before, Bea has her faults, but she is a super top dog in the way in which she looks out for those in trouble around her, and in many cases she hasn't even known them for very long. So its not so much loyal friendship which is her motive to save the day, but more a case of what it should be, and that is sticking together as a group against the enemy.

For some reason I didn't hate Vera as much as the way Colleen is being now. I guess Vera had another side to her where you felt sorry for her, and she did at least believe she was doing the right thing most the time. For Colleen in this case, she cared more about her pride than whether two kids would get put into a home. That's why everybody on all sides seemed to be pushing Colleen to change her mind, but she was a very hard nut to crack.

If people are offended by words, perhaps they might like to understand that words are symbols and therefore have no mass and cannot hurt you. People make a conscious effort to be offended, and if not, then they are automatically reacting to it without thinking. Not honking is far more offensive to me. Disempower the word, then it loses meaning. I hope that helps.

What I don't understand is why would they not transfer Gaffney to Barnhurst (because it was a medium security prison), when they sent Bea there.....I would not consider a two time murderer a "low-medium" security risk

No as at least Alison becomes a bit more likable after her talk with Myra. Alison is not nearly half as bad as that whinging wet Vivienne Williams from episodes 89-114 where just her constant monotone blubbering voice is enough to throw stuff at the TV.

***** It is an instantaneous hot water unit - they run on natural gas and heat cold water to hot on an as-needs basis. They don't use them for things like the shower because they don't run on mains pressure, but have a slow output. They're cheap to run, although modern homes in Australia don't usually have them any more.
