I'm relatively new to PC BH. I have put a couple of comments up .Touching base on the Vera character and Fiona Spence ,who played her in the show, she was actually life partner with Denise Morgan who was also one of the writers .I saw that Denise passed away 7 years ago in July 2011 .Vera was a great character and Fiona did a superb job of making that character a live human being -- mixing her vulnerability and her hardness together was it difficult thing to do. She mentioned in an interview how difficult it was to always bring that energy to the show, which is why she eventually decided to leave it. Fiona did a superb job.
