If you are facing .NET SDK related error - delete all the contents inside the dotnet folder in Program Files (x86)

I also found that I downloaded the wrong SDK version. I was using the x86 and not the x64 bit one. Once I switched and deleted the dotnet folder contents, I was good to go.

I came across this video last night and then went about downloading and setting up the game today. I loved Marvel Heroes before it was shutdown and I played it non stop for years...I used to do raiding with Mr. Brevik's wife on their stream and I had leveled up most characters to level 60 yellow and was always planning on continuing to do the ones I had left at some point. I think the ones I had left were Angela, Black Bolt, Beast, and Green Goblin...at least those are the only ones I didn't remember doing as I spent the last few hours playing through all the characters again and experiencing the nostalgia of playing the game so many years ago. Whenever people try to warn me off of a game because it is "grindy" I still say, "I leveled up Thing to level 60 yellow in Marvel Heroes in 2015, there is no level of grindy that scares me". I never thought I would see this game again because every time I searched for possible private servers for the game, or if there may be any chance the company that bought gazillion would ever release the game as abandonware or something like that, the only information I would find is that it would probably never happen. I had such a good time just running around killing bad guys with all the characters I used to play today and I wanted to thank you for the work you have done setting this up and I want to express how much I appreciate you doing this. This gives me so much excitement and hope of a finished version of MH to be playable again!

Stuck on step 8. "dotnet: build" didn't show up when I went to Source Control . VS code says "No build task to run found. Configure build task..." In the previous step, I read that there isn't really a confirmation action that server changes have been pulled or fetch in so I assumed I was good to go. What should I do ?

You can try visual studio community instead of visual studio code. Sounds like something wrong with your dotnet. If you just want to play on a test server use mhemutest.uk

Sounds like an issue with the devkit extension. Can try reinstalling that or just download the Visual Studio Community edition which does not need the devkit (use VS community instead)

You can roam the maps and use powers, change characters, change costumes, etc. no NPCs or enemies or damage yet. Still being worked on.

Not a lot, it's still very early. You can switch heroes, switch costumes, roam around, use travel powers. Most of the game still needs to be re-implemented.

Sounds like Apache issue, try preconfigured Apache or join the discord and ask in setup-help channel.

yep either set up your own local private server, or try out one of the public test servers. Visit their github and discord to find out the latest info.

@@RuffStuff420 there's an installer for running the server privately on your local machine, no need to do all these steps anymore. It's on their GitHub. To play with other players there's a couple test servers but the game isn't complete enough yet for it to be worth playing with others, it's early development still. I will be hosting a public server at playmh.net

If MH is in your steam library you can click download in steam to get MH client installed. If you don't have it in your steam library, search archive.org

Holy shit yes. This feels surreal lol, every single time I thought about it since the shutdown I've googled for anything about private servers, and had almost lost hope. I used to have one of the fastest TTK's on Doom with my Ms. Marvel towards the end, pre-movement patches and all, I remember her dash attack was so overpowered and with no cooldown you could just smash through Doom from all sides, fought more like a teleporter at the time but was so fucking fun. Yeah, this game really holds some of my fondest and most fun video game memories, up there with early days of L4D and early CS. The amount of money I spent on fucking fortune cards tho, fucking hell 😅😅
