Wonderfully divers collection. I would love to have a more diverse collection too but here in Spain the plant retailers have yet to catch up. The great thing was that he knew them all by name, off the top of his head! A true serious collector. Thx for letting us see into your garden for a short glimpse........if I was there in person I’d be there for hours!

Didn't read through all the comments, and maybe this was addressed previously, but I believe the 'chartreuse' Agave (at 3:06) is actually A. chazaroi and not A. shawii as indicated by the text overlay. This is truly a beautiful and remarkable garden collection!

WOW! Laura, just WOW! The Aloes were very impressive as well. I am jealous of you guys in California. You can plant them right in the ground. I live in zone 4/5 and have to hall everything inside for the winter. Correct me if I am wrong, but he appears to have your influence on the rock work? Anyway, thanks so much for taking us along for the ride. Kevin

A fellow Brit with the most gorgeous garden! Plus he’s got tons of Talavera! So envious! I just can’t get these species of agave here in Spain, and Talavera would have to be imported, but I’m scared it will break. Garden centres here are less sophisticated as the Spanish don’t garden as such, plus they don’t usually spend time outside, so the centres tend to just call a plant ‘agave’ with no info on which one it is, and I have to guess! I’ve found an online seller here, but the plants are tiny pups only so obviously I’m going to have to be super patient and grow them on..........but David’s garden provides lots of inspiration and eye candy! Thanks for showing us, Laura and David! xx

Collectors are always dealing with the challenge of space vs acquisition. He’s done a fairly good job so far but as he pointed out, some plants were placed too close together and will need to be rearranged. I admired the overall color scheme, wether intentional or not.

Hi Laura, fantastic video as usual. There is a really spikey cactus just behind you at the beginning of the video, it’s between you and David. He goes on to mention all the agaves in that part of the garden but passes over that particular one. I have one and don’t know what it’s called, could you tell me please?

Although the place is stunning with so many plant specimens, it seems to scream "stay away or I'll hurt you" & offers little to no safe place to escape to other than the patio. So, for me, I don't think I'd enjoy this type of a garden as much as the owner does. It's nice to see a different perspective in order to avoid having to regret over-doing it with so many different types of spiky plants. I still gave it a TU! It helped me to realize what I don't want in my private back yard space!
