To break in your needle let it spin in the run out groove over night it needs to have the vinyl spinning as well as the weight of the arm on it

You forgot the most important one: heavy hands!! Happens usually when everyone starts scratching!

A lot of dj's (eg Qbert & Rob Swift) put their counter weights on backwards. This is great for reducing skipping but can absolutely ruin your records so beware!

Thanks for the tutorial. Are you considering the anti skate part of the calibration or do you not even worry about it? I usually set mine to the weight scale. If the tone arm is balanced at 2.5, I set the anti skate to the same, 2.5. Any thoughts?

Mike Feliciano i leave it at 0.
@raygu18183 жыл бұрын
@@priyonjoni I balanced them evenly and some of my records were skipping. Then i set the Anti Skate to 0 and haven't had problems with skipping since.

Sir joni i have a question.do you need rekordbox interface for using pioneer ddj 1000 or vinyl dvs only.because i like to buy turntable to hook with ddj 1000.thanks for the tips.
@p2dz865 жыл бұрын
You just need to buy a dvs license then hook up your turntables that's it
@priyonjoni5 жыл бұрын
Dj Crazy Eternal Sound agreed. All you need is the license.
@thisguydidit14895 жыл бұрын
Or just purchase the DDJ-XP1 for 250

Hey im all new to turntables, and this might sound silly but where is the best position on the record to place the needle when playing. DVS users have it in different positions does that mean it doesn't matter as long as its on the record? ty
@priyonjoni4 жыл бұрын
Johnny Singh I like mine 20% inward from the beginning. Not all the way at the beginning but close to it. That way, I have a little bit of room to do spins with my hand right outside the label.

I was wondering what would cause my stylus to skip, after the record is finish play when it is coming back to the post? It has automatic return? Does something need to be adjusted or oiled? My turntable is a vintage Kenwood KD 2000 from the 1970,s Any help would be cool!

Jose vasquez overweighting the cartridge will cause skipping, especially if the spindle hole issue isn’t addressed
