Carly's scanner and free version of the app with standard OBD features are compatible with cars that have an OBD2 port. To see if Carly's advanced features - like full live data or manufacturer-level diagnostics - should work with your car, make sure to check out their website. To access these additional features, you'll need to get their yearly license.
The RB25det is a great engine, and to keep it in good shape, there were some parts that were in need of service. The header studs, clutch kit, and gaskets really helped refreshed this engine to restore its performance.
I try to mention tactics or methods I have learned on my automotive journey, such as performance shops and schooling, that way the knowledge can be continued on and put to good use for those who might find themselves in similar situations.
I spent the last 7 years building this 1990 Nissan 240sx from the ground up by myself. I swapped out the KA24e for a KA24de. Then once more for a RB25det out of a R34 Skyline and couldn't be happier. I have also converted the 240 to right hand drive, (which ended up saving my life!) After installing a few drift parts; such as a hydro E - Brake, and dual rear calipers, welded diff, solid suspension bushings and more, the car handled amazing. Surprisingly this S13 was able to drift and stay sideways perfectly despite the damage that was done to it.

Thanks for the good tips/advices for doing an engine job or hardware job (nuts,bolts,washers,etc.). It would be helpful for those who work on the engine and more. I’m might apply your tips/advices once I’m begin to work my late uncle’s car, together with my relatives. Also, Keep the good work.

Honestly it kinda sucks how winter came so fast this year, just the fact that nobody can do anything in the winter time, everyone is solitude and you can’t get nothing done in the day with it either being so cold out or only having the sunlight for a couple hours, sorry about the complaining I just needed to vent cause when you said winter is here, it got me thinking how I have to put a hold or stop certain things that I got going on around me because of the winter lol but your vids are always awesome to watch no matter the season bro and your always so chill in your vids man hopefully I can have the skill set and knowledge to fix cars the same as you bro it’s inspiring fr

Marking bolts is a must do whenever taking anything apart and going back together! Even if it’s just a drain plug after an oil change it never hurts to make a mark so you can double check with your eyeballs and know your ride is safe and tight on the go.

If a bolt is designed to be torqued with grease, we don't get the right tension without it (but since you used loctite instead, it most likely won't matter). On the other hand, we should never use grease if it's not mandatory, it stretches the threads a lot more than it's spec'd for and could lead to failures because the bolt/stud could end up permanently deformed (I've never seen you do this, I only add this one because I've seen it done a lot by lots of people, even in the industry, so much that a friend had to attend a demo from a big manufacturer to prove to them how much it stressed the bolts when they did it anyway).
@Kryndon64
@Kryndon64 Жыл бұрын
So are you saying all the copper grease I just put on on all the front suspension bolts and nuts was bad? Only reason I did it is to prevent further corrosion since I was re-using all the fasteners. This is also why I tend to use the middle value when following torque specs. So if a nut calls for 50-60 Nm, I choose 55Nm etc. Those extra 5-10% can be accounted for by the grease.

Love your videos always positive even in the worst situations. Just one thing though, you put the metal side of the manifold gasket to the head which is the wrong way. The metal side should go to the header side to allow for slip as the header expands and contracts.

if u did hand port the head.. its as slick polished exhaust port. and dimpled floor intake and opening the mouth. dont mess with the tonsil or throat.. people will say you shouldnt. but when you see the process of the hand porting on the itr heads. its just as basic. thats why its not critically devastating or if professionally accurate with cutting and grind angles and entry point for valve seating. but its fun i also port my honda sir heads. never had a gsr lsvtec before. rotary is different tho. its not opening the mouth of the port but the throat since its dropped in but breaths through a columbian neck tie lol

On the Cummins I send em home with the impact and red loctite. Might be a little different on the smaller motors but these big diesels vibrate like hell. Haven't had any bearing issues or bolts come loose 😅 On the Hondas I torque them though. Small motors may not take it as nicely

Im not sure how it could be controversial to reuse flywheel bolts, because theyre regular bolts in terms of construction and they arent stress bolts. So as long as the bolts havent been overly over torqued or the bolt head, shanl and/ or thread isnt damaged, you can reuse those bolts as often as one of those mentioned circumstances accure, like every other regular bolt.
