An issue i had with my civic is snapping the cvt chain. How do you prevent it?

Dont over mod a cvt

@@axionindwhat would you call over modding?
@natedogg72842 ай бұрын
@@Tomoose Pushing something like ~220hp is okay more or less, probably longevity issues. Around ~260 - 270 and you’re asking it to blow up.

@@natedogg7284 i’ve got front pipe, intercooler, hvi, catback exhaust, inlet pipe and downpipe otw and was looking to tune. i assume that’s too much?
@natedogg72842 ай бұрын
@@Tomoose Nah, actual mods will almost never affect the CVT negatively, for the most part. The tune is what will do you in. All those mods combined will not affect actual hp numbers until you tune it. So you just have to tune fairly conservatively if you have the CVT.

Is this much louder than stock in person?

Yes

@@axionind thanks. I’m debating on buying one but want to make sure it’s easily noticeable since I’d mainly be buying it for the sound

Like he said. Don't over mod. Unfortunately CVTs are not the best Transmissions. Personally think manual is always better unless you do a lot of city driving involving frequent stopping and going.

@@Ebelon i’m confused where the CVT mention is coming from. Type Rs are all manual
@ASJC272 ай бұрын
@@Ebelon This is a type r, not an econobox civic. A. It’s manual only. No -chain- belt to break. I wouldn’t do anything to a belt cvt. They break just fine on their own stock. B. Modding it is pretty much mandatory and Honda knows it - just like any type r before it.
