You know what I love about this demo? The ability to understand that "this is what happens if I turn this dial". With the other thousand Pro 3 demos, it's for the most part dudes playing advanced sounds and showing off their programming skills, instead of taking the viewer by the hand and guiding them through a patch to really get a feel for the behaviour of the synth. Thanks for all the hard work, Cuckoo!

Hi Cuckoo! The PRO-3 is my very first true analogue synthesizer. It sounds very different from my typical Virtual Analogue (VA) like my Access Virus TI. Much more extreme and brute!

Instead of trying to be a universal omnisynth, it seems like the Pro 3 is just trying to be a good instrument. And it succeeds! I wasn't interested in it at first, but after some demos it now seems like one of the best synths of the past few years. I especially like how dirty it can get with the options for overdrive, distortion, and tuned feedback. But then change patches and it can sound really clean and nice.

Seeing a bit more hype for the Pro 3 makes me sad the Pro 2 wasn't terribly successful--it remains my favorite synth. Still, it's exciting to see any of Dave Smith's instruments getting positive feedback. This looks like a wonderful monster.

Hi, nice video. I only have a doubt due to monophony: is it possible to make chords and pads?
@truecuckoo4 жыл бұрын
Chords and pads is generally better off with a polyphonic synth. But with the paraphony you can create chords and pads, just not with the same flexibility as with a true polyphonic synthesizer.

2:04 you can hear stepping caused by limited DAC resolution on the control voltage
@daemonelectricity4 жыл бұрын
Is that stepping from the DAC or just the filter? I've definitely heard filters in my modular rig that seemed to hit musical intervals harder than the in-between tones, when the resonance is cranked and you don't hear that when he sweeps the filter with the resonance turned down. It sounds a little quarantined, but isn't gritty like stepping artifacts.
@misssarahrosemarie23563 жыл бұрын
Hmmm... I think that only happens while adjusting parameters manually with knobs. On the other hand, programming a filter sweep with an LFO or envelope will sound natural. It is a little annoying if you’re performing live and want to sweep manually, but for me it’s no big deal.

Hi, one of the problems I have with the MOOG sub 37 is that when I create a pattern andhit play or try to engage the arpegiator there is this slight delay that is completey unprodictable. We are talking milliseconds but for a non-midi user its imposssible to synch up manually with anything. Does this have that issue? Does it start immediately?
@NeuroFrquency5 жыл бұрын
Pro 3 sounds pretty damn good.

i guess they won't be making desktop version... :(
@bisamkiez5 жыл бұрын
@Divinital yeah, i have nothing against that, but the desktop version would make it more affordabe, and i already have too many keyboards and controllers, as many synth nerds who are their target users have. They tend to make desktop versions of their polysynths, but previous version of their monosynth, Pro-2 was available only with keyboard, so I assume they will continue that tradition...
