Yes! If you haven’t reacted to that, it’s fantastic. The beatboxers actually do step out and do a “beat box off.” The judges even question if it was the first one. Look for The Sing Off Season 4, I’m all right.

@@chilcootchicks4968 my favorite part of the performance is the two groups interaction and support for each other. Up until that performance, The Filharmonics were a decent young group still trying to find their confidence. Home Free saw their strengths and helped Filharmonics see Home Free's. A TRUE collaborative effort, they mixed each other's styles together and created a performance that was better than the sum of it's parts. Home Free helped draw a more confident performance from the younger team.

imo, Layne will always allow the other beatboxer(s) to shine in a battle, because he's just that way

I don't think a single Home Fry or Voiceplaya would complain if the groups had done more stuff together. Or rather, "together" as they weren't actually in the same place for this. And the groups are friends, so I still hope we see them together someday.💙

For the bass battle, check out Home Free's Elvira, featuring the Oak Ridge Boys! Richard and Tim work on out-doing each other. Also, the credit for the arrangement goes to Geoff.

I think this goes back to when they were on the show and battleing for 1st place. They had this song if they were going to have to battle and one get eliminated but that never happened and Home Free took 1st and Voiceplay took 2nd. They liked working together and I think they do a lot of helping each other. I think Voiceplay helps with making a lot of the arrangements with Home Free. Due to this and they both liked the song, so they did it in a video just so everyone else could enjoy it as well. At least, that is how I heard the story.... Also, side note... I just saw HomeFree half concert in Ohio last week. Lightning cut the show short as we were outside. Got to meet Tim getting food and saw Rob out and about. Got to watch them rehearse too for a bit and they just came from Grand ol' Opera the night before. After that show, they headed to New York for the next day concert.... These guys are great!

There’s so much going on in this video that I’ve never fully listened to the intricacies of Layne and Adam’s percussion bboxing. Really interesting to be shown something new after several listens.

They do more together as individuals. Tim sings with them in Just Sing and Rob does a movie medley with them.

And Chris Rupp did an ACA10 with them. I think it was called Bro Country. However l, they also have worked together some on arrangements. Home Free’s “Elvira” began as VoicePlay’s (Geoff arranged) with some changes. And Layne helped arrange Home Free’s “Butts Remix”

There is a LIVE version of this from when these two groups were on the Sing Off Tour together! I’d recommend checking that out too see if it shows the parts a little better.
