I watched a vid of Jareds about forcing your chest to meet the bar and its changed everything for me. I like to picture I'm trying to bend the bar around my chest at the most stretched position and I feel the movement now so much less in my deltoid and more in my pecs. Thank you very much, sometimes its the smallest adjustments that make the biggest difference.

Yeah definitely. With shoulders the little tips like that made a huge difference for me, for whatever reason I have a terrible mind muscle connection with my delts.

@@deathcultcreative1447 I don't do it as a superset, as I feel that those really heavy and intense presses would limit my ability to do flies more than I'd like, and a superset (of the same muscle) with a dropset on the second exercise sounds like straight death :D

5:45 I saw someone at the gym today using a fairly unique technique on the assisted dip machine that i've never seen before where they flip up the pad, put their feet on the bar running across the bottom of it, and straighten their legs so that their hips kind of are forced back and the upper body is at almost the same angle as is demonstrated here but with the legs sticking out in front of them, looked pretty gnarly.

@Seantage15 күн бұрын
17:05 is the biggest tip you can utilize on most chest exercises. Instead of letting your arms sink behind your body, that last inch pushing your chest to the bar is massive. I kinda do this on most pressing exercises as it roles the shoulders back, stretches the pecs and focuses the initialization of the movement throught the pecs. I'm very shoulder dominant and this cue helps a ton to get a better mind muscle connection with the chest.

Apologies if this is a little off topic but the splits video is a bit older so I figure I won't get replies there and posted this question here also: Question: I do a push/pull split and incorporate legs into both workouts-- leg extensions and squat movements for push day, leg curls and deadlift type movements for pull day. I am 45, 5'9" and just short of 190lbs (dad bod because I have to force myself to eat to get any muscle gains) and I have been working out consistently for 3-4 days a week for about a year now with pretty decent results. I simply alternate the push/pull pattern no matter what day of the week it is. I typically do between 5 and 7 different workouts in about an hour each session. This allows for little rest in between sets and I even sometimes walk in between sets of more isolated exercises, mostly because I'm paranoid to gain more fat than I need to. I watch other guys sit for long minutes between sets and never break a sweat while I'm huffing pretty well when I walk out of the gym. I consider this a badge of honor, but maybe I'm doing it wrong? I usually get sore (unless I'm feeling really great and push myself hard) and never fatigue so much that I feel like I don't want to go to the gym because I'm so tired, but I do have those times where I take breaks every 90 days or so and get sore after my first couple of days back. There any reason that this shouldn't work for me on the long term or anything I could tweak to gain a little better over time?

Two movements for me, incline dumbbell bench press, and incline chest press flys like this. On the bench,I turn my palms inward . It gives a good stretch and is actually easier on my shoulders. Pause at bottom every single rep . The deep tissue soreness/pumps is golden. That same type of reps goes with any other movement.
