I feel those vids may perform better on their own separately tho as a tie in with the react vids. Like he cud end the react vid by sayin when he plans to release his own version of it and remind folks to subscribe and hit the bell so they dont miss out on it. The two kinds of vids attract a different kind of ppl, even if theres a lot of overlap.

My favorite thing to do with grilled cheese is to put garlic and black pepper in the butter and then cover the butter in powdered parmesan cheese, basically giving the sandwich a parmesan crust. The parmesan adds crunch and salt as well as help protect the bread from burning.

@@idkjustchangingmyname7343 American cheese is not great for flavor. It's milky and not very cheesy flavored, but the texture is oh so right for me. I enjoy using my homemade breads for grilled cheese, but it's a mistake to use any cheese that doesn't melt easily. Good ol' American cheese works and if you are terribly averse to Kraft singles, get the "fancy" cheese at the deli counter. A grilled cheese can be elevated by adding gruyere, but it needs that American cheese to get melty. And the bread still needs to be sliced pretty thin, so the heat penetrates to the cheese. I've been able to get around the burnt conundrum by using my air fryer and spreading mayo on the outside pieces of bread. It's great!

Those cheese might taste good on its own and it would've been better if it was grated but those cheeses aren't good melters gotta use a melting cheese when making a grilled cheese make sure it has a higher fat content. And adding kimchi on a grilled cheese I don't know. I like kimchi especially if it's homemade and I don't know if it goes well with that grilled cheese with the choices of cheese and it isn't a grilled cheese when you add stuff that isn't cheese even know it can be good like bacon, ham, or caramelized apples with brie that's good but a grilled cheese is just bread, butter and cheese that's it simple and if you want to elevate that's fine but simplicity is key.

Grilled cheese with tomato soup is one of my favorites during a cold winter evening and something my parents used to make all the time. It's one of those things that doesn't take to fancy shit. Asiago smells like feet without any melting or cooking, but it is indeed delicious. I like block sharp cheddar for my grilled cheese, sometimes pepper jack if I'm wanting a kick. A grilled cheese can be gourmet, but it's better as comfort food. I prefer Sourdough or Multigrain bread if I want a crunch. I usually lightly toast my bread in a toaster, melt my butter in an iron skillet, and let the almost crunchy bread soak up the butter then get toasty.

I also melt the butter slowly and add the bread to the pan. I will also put the sandwich together in the pan and press a mixture of powder parmesan and Italian herbs onto the bread and flip it over. It creates a crispy, salty, cheesy crust. I also love fruit in it. Jam and preserves work well, also, as does spicy brown mustard. Apricot is my fave. Fluffy white bread is a classic. Taking cues from molecular gastronomy/processed cheese manufacturing and heating the cheeses with a little bit of water and an emulsifier like sodium citrate to essentially make his own processed cheese would have also been a good idea. My preference is bakery sourdough, and I just use salted butter (Irish, Dutch, or Amish) American on one side, and the other I switch up between medium Tillamook cheddar or fontana and I like to add torn fresh basil. Then fold it together. Another 2 min per side to ensure perfect crispness and color.

Gordon made a nice looking cheese sandwich and I'm sure it tasted pretty good even with not being a grilled cheese sandwich. A harder cheese like what was used here can make a nice grilled cheese though it takes more time for it to melt, particularly as thick as Gordon cut it, so I probably would have suggested (beyond what Chef Brian suggests) is heating the slices by themselves on a griddle or skillet to soften them and start the melting before putting them on the bread. Last time I had a grilled cheese was earlier this year while I was taking care of my mom and on regular white bread she put pepper jelly on cream cheese. I wasn't sure what to think of it beforehand but it made for a very nice, creamy, grilled cheese. Growing up my favorite way to make them was with bacon or bacon bits, if we had them, with velveeta or american.

Mayo instead of butter gives it a gross fishy flavor, I've tried this with many different types and it never compares to butter. People say it makes it crispier, but simply cooking it patiently on a low heat is what makes it crispy without being burnt, with any oil (but butter is the best flavor)

when i use hard cheeses for grilled cheese, in order to being able to melt it properly, i use a seperate pan. i make it nice and hot, then put the hard cheese slices in it and just a splash of milk. this helps soften up the cheese (you dont wanna melt it in there). the water in the milk will evaporate within 15-20 seconds. in the meantime you can put your breadslices into your other pan with butter. flip the bread, then put the now softer cheese on top. this way you ensure that you can properly melt the hard cheese on top of the bread. anything else im putting in there (depending on my mood) is put on the bread, after the cheese is melted and i take the bread out of the pan.
