SOLD 2006 Chrysler 300C SRT8. Full review and test drive by Bill. This Beast of a car from Mopar's Performance division provided incredible performance at a bargain price, outpacing many of Europe's Q-ships for half the price or less. Powered by a specially tuned 6.1 liter Hemi V8 putting out 425HP, this big sedan moved from 0-60 in less than 5 seconds, and turned in a quarter mile in the low 13s.
To go with the power, the suspension, much of it borrowed from the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, turned in exceptional handling for its size and weight, and the big Brembos would even outbrake a Mercedes-Benz E55 AMG of the same vintage. All in all, one of my favorite cars.

I purchased my 2006 SRT8 new and I haven't had a betterer car...ever. It's reliable, powerful, comfortable and it does have a certain look that some would call a bit gangster. I would agree the interior is minimalist but it's also supremely functional. This is a great video for us SRT8 fans to view.

Your videos are a HOOT! Just a slight correction on something you said about 300. The 300, the Challenger, and the Charger use suspension bits from the S Class and the E Class. If memory serves me the front is from the S Class and rear is from the E Class which is why these ride so nice and are great road trip cars.

I own this car. I would give it a solid 7/10. The car obviously looks like a million dollars, but understand that the car is (unfortunately) an American engineered car (Although it does have the E-class "DNA" as it's a DaimlerChrysler). That being said, Pros: - Great engine - Pretty reliable as long as you maintain it properly - Smooth ride/quiet - luxury features are amazing for its time - Sound system is impeccable - The Mercedes transmission is smooth and high quality - Trunk fits a couple of bodies Cons: - The car starts rattling everywhere after about 80k miles - Lots of the interior trims are plastic (Chrysler had to cut costs somewhere I guess, but it makes the car feel cheap in the inside) - The suspension components need to be replaced after about 100k. This is a heavy car, and since chrysler had to cut costs, they used cheap suspension parts that wear out. - Believe it or not, but this car had a problem where the shifter would get stuck because of a cheap plastic part in the shifter mechanism. Was an easy replacement, but Chrysler... come on lol. Edit: I drove this car down the keys with my best friend. The engine light appeared, and it turned out to be a broken EGR valve. So that happens too after about 80k.

Note to Self: Your low tire indicator... 1. Could have a tire sensor gone bad. About $50 for the part. 2. If it's been replaced, computer needs to be reset. I have a ALL BLACK with Chrome Trim 2008 Hemi C. Mone has a fabulous clear coat that has multi colored flecks in it. Gold, silver & more. Beautiful in the Sun. I get tons of compliments, stating they've never seen a clear coat like it. My son applied the professional "Ceramic Coating" some years ago. STILL LOOKS BRAND NEW! Haven't had to WASH it in years, everything just rinses off! It's always been garaged except when in use. I believe the part about cheap front-end suspension parts. This car weighs 500 lbs more than my 94 Lincoln Signature Town car V8 w/Overhead Cam. Miss my air ride suspension when driving my 300C. Both have the power. Lincoln has so much more room... but they quit making the big town car. Had 4 Lincolns The 300 HemiC is a lot easier to park, lol

That was another great one for a change, Bill ! I had one of those, a 2007.. That car was a lot of fun and has great handsome looks that stand up today. The interior with that leather combo with the grey color works well there. It's a cool and businesslike interior. The car is a throwback to the 1960s in many ways. With the low restriction intake runners and free breathing intake and exhaust, a hot cam; it's a very old school approach. That fire breathing 6.1 liter HEMI is a screamer that loves to run. But it's perfectly docile and well mannered when that's called for. It's all quite civilized in there. Although, I think you're correct and the size slots properly as an intermediate. I would have liked to have seen the 300 in a size closer to the old 'R' body, which came in in 1978 or '79.. But you take what you can get. It's still a great great ride.

I have straps holding the firearms, a rack to hold magazines and a small ammo box secured to the trunk to hold the shells for the shockwave. I had the identical 2006 car brand new, color and everything. It was a quite good car which surprised me as I have never owned a Chrysler before or since. The engine was wonderful in terms of both performance and sound. What made me buy the car was the styling in that I felt it had just the right touches without having that boy racer look that ruins so many late model performance cars. Negatives that I recall included a so-so interior and it had a habit of wearing out front end, brakes and steering components even in the first year or two. I only kept it 3 or 4 years but sold it to a friend who still has it.

It's definitely your girlfriend shrinking it Bill. I am having the same problem and now we have supporting evidence from two continents. My buddy got a 2008 300c V6 for $3,000 here in England. They didn't sell many here because gas is so expensive and I'm surprised how well it is holding up. I love this SRT8 though. Conversationally, all big / luxury cars get dirt cheap here when they get old because you can't run a car into the ground like in the US (I wish you could). Even your 30 year old 5 series here has to meet the same roadworthiness standards as a new 7 series - down to tires, lights, wheels, bumpers, windscreen, emissions, about 100 other testing points. Put it this way, 90% of the cars I see and want in the US would not be allowed on the road here. Pisses me off.

I completely applaud your opinion where this vehicle is concerned. It is delightful to actually see a sedan in a world filled with clone clown cars AKA SUVs. You know what an SUV really should be called? An SSW (Shruken Station Wagen). The worst part is they all look the same. Someone in China is making a mint off of the grill. It looks like it would fit everything from an Audi to a Subaru. I actually was coming out of a store one time to get into my Lyft ride. Walked up to the car and tried to get in the back passenger door and it was locked. There was the driver sitting inside, motor running, door locked! So I tried again, didn't get his attention. Then something spoke to me, you know that little voice in the back of your head kind of thing. Turns out my car was one space to the right. A completely different year manufacturer , make, and model. The only thing they shared was the paint color, the ever creative white. Let's call them like they are. 85% of everything on the road is a cookie-cutter body style trying to look different but not too different lest originality results in rejection.
