Another absolute banger Daniell! You touched on how the car feels when the fuel burns off and tyres/tires wear. IRL do you make BB adjustments and if so could you explain that a little more, which way, how much and why? Not right now, if you ever do a video on the subject 😁
@danielmorad Жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot Dave! I don’t really make BB adjustments while driving. It’s a set, and forget. Sometimes if you get a little more brake wear on the front or back, you might shift it over a 12h period but not really in shorter races. Normally, we always start Q with new brakes and use them for the race.

Great stuff Daniel. You're easily the best pro driver with a channel like this, and easily the reason why you get the community interaction you do. Regarding 900 degree comment... 'soft lock' is the feature iRacing (and almost all sims) applies... so even if calibrated at 900, when in a car that'd be lower (f1, etc) it'll stop at the correct spot. Otherwise you're bang on, use 900 and let the game do the rest. 100x about the VR vs screens... though I do end up using VR more frequently myself. Also hate watching streamers who use VR, doesn't translate to third party viewing very well.

@f1_onboardsAC Жыл бұрын
You´ll find a richer FFB than iRacing but I suspect some of those effects are not supposed to be there in the wheel. They put them there just to replace IRL g-forces. Tire model feels different and has it´s flaws also, as the need to use minimum pressures and an excessively forgiving behaviour in drifts and big slip angles. You can go sideways at 200kmh in a porsche cup for a long time with no struggle to correct it, for example at parabolica. Feels just the inverse of iRacing tbh, with the difference than in RF2 you can be fast droing some unrealistic things. iRacing at least forces you to drive somehow close to IRL. Of course I´m not a racing driver but I bet you´ll feel the same way. IDK what you´ll think about braking. At least flatspots are well implemented. @@danielmorad

I swear by VR. I absolutely love it and I don’t have the space to setup triple monitors. Personally I use the Quest 3 on iRacing and I love the depth perception you get from it as well as the clarity. It allows me to be super precise in wheel to wheel battles. I’ve never really had any major FPS issues with it.

I wanted to do VR racing so bad! I have an Oculus Rift. But no matter how I try to ease into it, it always makes me sick. I envy people like you!
@RetroGenetic10 ай бұрын
I was almost 6 years off rom sim racing, as I did not have the space for a long time and as I did not really have space for proper VR use I sold my Rift. Now I bought HP Reverb G2, and it is amazing for iRacing and AC. I can get nearly same clarity and steady 90FPS while being able to read the text on braking markers from up to 250-300m (depending of the track) fairly clearly. And the funny part is, I do not get any nausea while driving in most of the sims, exception being AMS/PC2 which have somewhat odd rendering engine which can make me feel a bit squeezy after a long session (2-3hours), while many other types of games I start to feel sick after 10-30mins, so if you are someone who wants to get in to VR but may get nauseous easily in some titles, try to find an opportunity to give it a bit longer test (few times over a week or two) and see how it goes. And if you have really good balance, you are going to be screwed compared to someone with worse, which you can mitigate a bit by doing balance exercises eyes closed so as to break what you see vs what you feel.

ACC gt4s need some love :(( They released them and forget about them. I think the problems on the braking of ACC come from setup (there are very absurd setups that arent realistic) and how powerful is the ABS, aero and tires have been very improved on ACC (on the aero Aris (dev) said that they calculate the downforce or air on every part of the car, and how the level of downforce change from high to low speed). Also, have you tried the Porsche Cup Car and the BMW M2 CS? From the M2, I have heard that they feel very good and similar to a road car. Question for the next round: When you use rf2 and realize it's the best sim ever created, how long will it take for you to move away from iRacing? Lol jk, but this video makes me want to see your comparison even more. The front end air over the car makes a huge difference in braking on rF2, you'll completely miss your braking zone if you're behind a car. There are many ACC fanboys (who are probably too cheap to buy iRacing) that claim it is the best thing. When I tell them that I regularly drive race cars on track and that iRacing is a much better simulator, they just laugh at me and come up with the name of a so-called pro driver who says ACC is better. Then, when I ask if they've ever tried iRacing, they say no. LMAO :D

It depends on how you define physics. Thanks in advance!
@danielmorad Жыл бұрын
Hey Seb. You feel it in your hands and in your body. The g force drops off. You feel the lose of yaw or slip from the rear. To help with understeer in iRacing or sim racing games, you can adjust static force reduction or just use your eyes to see the trajectory. Also, you can just see that if you add more wheel and it doesn’t rotate sharper, you can take lock off the steering and see if it changes the trajectory as well. Squeeze the brakes on more or less to adjust the grip in the front rather than adding more wheel lock. The harder the front tire squeezes into the ground, the more front grip you get until the point where you start to add lateral load and you lose contact patch on that inside front wheel

Dude put links in your description. Much easier to see the blue text that it's a link to twitch. If I didn't hear you saying it in the video I'd still have no idea you had a stream or wouldn't think about checking myself if you did. You're missing out on viewers.

My question would be how much a gt3 driver make a year?
@andreasotto1977 Жыл бұрын
3:22 I totally disagree. I had the Playseat Challenge for some years and it's a perfect solution for a wheel in the G920 range, if you're limited in space. Your laughing reaction shows you've never sat in one and judge from pictures instead.
@danielmorad Жыл бұрын
I have sat in one and many different solutions. Sorry that you feel judged but this is a reaction that is 100% internal. There’s never shame to have certain equipment. I’m happy that you’re even enjoying sim racing. All I mean is that, if you can get yourself a proper rig, you can get a stiffer and more rigid setup. Thanks for sharing

What do you mean the ACC GT4 feels numb? Are you talking about purely FFB - the physical feeling in your hands? The way the car reacts to setup changes? The way the car drives and changes balance? The way the car behaves during slip-angles? Numb can be interpreted in many different ways. Your answer is extremely non-descriptive.

As someone with just a normal car, yeah acc is odd 😂

I genuinely LOL'ed at the idea that someone who has raced professionally, IRL, in a fireproof onesie and a helmet describes VR as "getting really hot". 😀 Worst part is though, I can't even bring myself to disagree.
@Gamer-sq8vc Жыл бұрын
Yup. VR is too hot for him yet he has to race in a fireproof onesie and helmet and sometimes scorching conditions in real life. What a joke. He also says he apparently sets his sim up to replicate reality yet he only wears socks on his feet, no shoes. Any one who's used any decently high pressure pedal (doesn't have to be insanely high pressure) will tell you right away that not only do shoes give you way more control but shoes make it feel like you're pressing less hard, or they allow you to press just as hard but with sort of feeling like you're not pressing as hard (difficult to explain, easy to feel). I would love to see how much less precision and control and how much his feet would hurt if he was allowed to race with only socks on in real life. He clearly sets his sim equipment for ultimate performance to try to win at all costs instead of realism and immersion. He even admitted in a video. He's more concerned with winning and content creation I feel. He even says that iRacing braking models "aerodynamic bleed off" which makes it's braking the most realistic. Almost any sim made in the past 20 years models aero grip and therefore "aerodynamic bleed off".
@Gamer-sq8vc Жыл бұрын
iRacing may feel and even be more realistic in terms of braking and generally driving for laptime but it's terrible when it comes to oversteer behavior, wheelspin, rear slip angles, etc. Completely unnatural and has been with tire model after model for 15 years. Almost all sims are terrible in those situations though. Live for Speed and Netkar Pro are by far and away the leaders in those areas with Assetto Corsa in the middle and the remaining games all pretty terrible, wonky, and unnatural especially when you jump into actual racecars (say an F2000 or F3 or something).

@@danielmorad How exactly can you make an observation about something without experiencing or testing it? Your comment about GT7 was not objective. I can't speak for Forza. I have my own experiences and objective evidences with GT to call your claim that it is nowhere close to being realistic false.

@@danielmorad You do! And now is a great time to do so as tomorrow it´s releasing its biggest update yet.

@@danielmorad Also if you do get to try GT7 please try it with the PSVR2 and I heard RaceRoom is due to get a big physics update maybe you can revisit that too.

Regarding the gt4s, did you come to your conclusion using a default setup from the game? Curious if an "esports" setup would feel more in line with reality or not
@lowproscrumbum Жыл бұрын
I think you need to re watch the video he is very clear about the game having nothing right at all. The FFB in ACC feels like a sweety hand skipping across a cheap coffee table and the breaks are even worse.
