The Brock Paverbase people specify compaction of the bedding sand (by hand tamping) but in professional installer videos they don't compact the sand. Can anyone explain?

What is a compacted base. Seems like you going through all the steps for a regular job

Did you stake the sheets down? Also I see you left the metal pipe after screeding.

You don't need to stake them down that I'm aware of, you just use edge retention border to keep them in place and you stake that down. And yes, I'm about to install this tomorrow and they say leave the pipe or rebar that you use as a screed guide in place

Do you recommend to or not to use a plate Compactor to get the polymeric sand to infiltrate into all of the crevices when using the Brock paver base?

I believe the manufacturer (Brock) recommends that you _not_ use a plate compactor _over_ the paver base. I would expect thatyou should be fine if you use a tamper to vibrate the pavers to get the sand down further, and personally I would recommend it.
