I'm a beat production assistant at a studio in Latin America and this is the first time I've seen a video by Kyle and I must say that as someone who has been in the music industry for a while, I would have definitely given my vote to Kyle, not only because his production is very original but because you can clearly see the work, effort and above all the soul of the producer. For people who work and make a living from this, we understand the love and work that goes into making their beats from scratch. The first Judge is completely right in his opinion. Making a mix with several samples and adding a couple of juicy drums is not, for me, making a beat, but hey, the difference is knowing who is professional and who is not. Very good video and very good beats.

Umair literally just took samples and threw drums over them, thats it
@PtylerBeats3 күн бұрын
I have no real issue with the concept of throwing drums on a sample, because a lot of amazing beats are just that simple. The two main issues with Umair’s beats are that they WEREN’T simple and every sample is just ripped from popular songs. Like this dude just lives on whosampled starting at what popular producers use and then uses those samples. He’s not being creative (not saying he isn’t creative because idk, but he didn’t show any creativity) and he’s not leaving any space on the track for an artist. He’s just jamming them pack with sounds, which, yeah, sound good, but there’s so much more to production than squeezing as much sounds as you can into a track.

@ I feel like you’re getting unnecessarily attacked in the comments lol I’ve definitely contributed to it by giving my own critique about this style of production (which is clearly good for beat battles because it’s more entertaining than hearing an unfinished song), but I also just want to give you some positive feedback because the beats ARE good. I don’t think we’re knowledgeable about the beat battle scene, so these aren’t the type of beats we’re used to. And it’s one of the reasons you beat Kyle. He didn’t really produce his beats to stand on their own. It’s a just a different style. Producing a track for an artist is different than producing for the music to stand on its own. And you’re, at the very least, amazing at the second style. So congrats on your 10x! I have my own personal opinions about music, but at the end of the day, that’s all it is. You’re definitely a better producer than everyone in these comments with opinions.

@@CampionBondMUSIC As a constructive criticism, I think that in these types of events, originality and the effort that goes into making and producing beats and rhythms from scratch should also be valued, since taking and using samples is a resource, but it should not be 90% of the beat, since it feels more like a DJ mix than a beat. And if umair is a nine-time champion, perhaps this should be taken into account, since the event could become about who makes the best sample mix, and it would lose part of its meaning. But beyond that, I think it is a fun event and a good experience. Congratulations on that. I hope they improve and do more events in the future.

That's your job man xD ). Had both Kyle and Umair been anonymous I'm quite sure Kyle would have won unanimously. Also probs to Kyle for kinda risking it all as a known figure in that community. It's not 1 to 1, but you don't see a boxer with the belt take on the small fishes. It's too risky and not worth it. You have everything to loose and not much to gain... when your in that seat you should technically be better than the others, no? So respect for kinda putting your reputation on the line. Your beats were definitely dope; I definitely understand where the judges were coming from. You are a producer, not a beat maker. Your tracks tells story or album cuts. You leave room for the artist to breath and dope at the same time. That is one thing I had to learn from my days of beat battles. I lost 2 battles back to back and could not figure out what I was doing wrong until I realize that I had to create standalone beats and not beats that needs an artist to make it shine. After I made that adjustment, I won the next Istandard beat battle. I still have your song in my playlist, it was definitely a treat to have been there with them on the same stage.

To be fair, it was a beat battle, not a back track listening party. I think his comments were fine.
@casserCOM2 күн бұрын
@@sbwilkerson His preferences are wack. If he was a "professional", he would realize that the other dude's beats are just rip-off concepts that have been done before a million times over. I STG his 3rd jersey beat was a 1-1 copy of someone else's work with some juicy, speaker-shaking 808's shoved in. Anybody can do that. Dude's not producing. He's not making beats. He's DJing beats made from other people. Anyone who has engaged with the popular music scene since 2020-24 would realize that he's just riding worn-out trends and jacking songs/melodies he hasn't made. Kyle's final beats were literally top-of the line, professional level, HAND MADE productions. The drums, the melodies, the mixing, everything. I don't even like Kyle's style that much because it tends to lean more towards being mainstream (hence the Drake comparisons). But at least his beats are original, display real artistry, and are handled with taste. Kyle could 100% cook up something experimental/knocking, but he likes to keep it classy. He can make top-of-the-line beats in just about any hip-hop genre considering its his profession (and has a decade+ of experience). Even an amateur could slap together a hard-hitting jersey/philly banger with little to no experience. I believe that the judges (aside from the one who was on Kyle's side) are idiots/frauds. The one judge didn't even want to make a decision, like what? It's your job to make a decision. (my guess is that he wanted to pick Kyle but would be afraid of the consequences). In all honesty, I think that this is a case of not wanting to let the white guy win, if not just sheer incompetence or lack of understanding. They wanted the "9x champ" to win for posterity's sake, because letting the weird looking white guy outperform their "star" would be sacrilege. But who's to say.

I haven't seen Beat Battles before, but I get the feeling it's kinda like battle rap. It has it's own style, and only work in a battle setting. The way to win a round or battle isn't by making the best beat for a song or a rapper. They are custom made for a battle. The judge said it best when he said his were more for records and could hear a rapper vocalising on it.
