@LiamsLPs Жыл бұрын
I loved the addition of the move effectiveness being shown! I think the reason they don't show Pokémon types with new encounters is they try to make each design with type clarity in mind, and part of the fun is seeing a new Pokémon and figuring out what type(s) it is
@Rubywing4 Жыл бұрын
Plus getting the type revealed as a surprise when/if you catch the new Pokémon you've never seen before. When I encountered a Maschiff for the first time in Scarlet, I thought it was a Fighting type because it's crimson (like the Fighting type color) and looked like a fighter dog of some sort, so I was surprised when the Pokédex revealed it to be Dark. Same thing with Glimmet, when I randomly found one in the small northwestern cave/crag part of East Province Area Three, I thought it was like a Psychic/Grass type or something like that, I definitely did not expect Rock/Poison when I got it and the Pokédex revealed it to me. And when fighting Slither Wing for the first time, I totally thought it was Bug/Dragon because of the dragon-like tail it has, especially since I figured out it was weak to Fairy, and so I was kind of disappointed it turned out to be Bug/Fighting.

Really like your take on the type chart, cause it's absolutely true. My brother first started playing Sun and had a way easier time playing than X (which he played after). While playing X, he'd always come to me, asking me what was super effective. I ended up drawing him a type chart, but that became pretty tedious to use. By playing the newer games, where it tells you whats effective, he now has a better grasp on type match ups in general. People often forget that pokemon keeps getting new players. And that not all players have a good grasp on all the concepts it introduces. Hell, I have been playing for years and still dont have a full grasp on the competitive scene of pokemon. I also just learned 2 mechanics from XY i never knew existed? And also still mix up some stuff with type effectiveness. Pokemon being accessible to new players is a good thing. What we really need is a difficulty setting, so both old and new players (and casual players) can have a fun but challenging experience.
