I’m NOT a professional painter! But as a former mechanic, I can say once you’ve done something for so long, you develop your own way of doing things. And I imagine in a busy body shop you learn to paint fast because you make your money off painting. Trigger keep doing you bro! Slow or fast I’m still gonna be watching and learning at the Triggerman school!

The skill level it takes to do what you're doing when you slow down and speed up all on the same clear coat application tells that you have mastered your craft. I've been painting for 25 years and have many certifications And I'll say with complete certainty that you my friend have mastered this craft and there's no one on the internet or in real life that can deny that with a straight face. Even though I don't like to see the emblems left on the vehicle I know that's something that's out of your control and has nothing to do with your skill. Very well done and an even better explanation. 👌👍

This is probably the only paint video on YT, that has demonstrated the different application speeds...... on the SAME paint job!? 🤔🤔 Trigger, fantastic video, Sir! So well explained! For me, it depends on which spray gun I'm using, alongside the environments..... if using the 4600 xtreme, it's faster.... if using the prolite, it's slower! We as painters, throughout all ranks of experience, are constantly evolving! Getting yourself out of the sh*t, when paint goes belly up, is what makes you a good/great painter! Kudos, Brother! I know exactly what you mean. Certain guns can be adjusted to your style and some can't. Some will come close but then you'll have to change too much of your technique to justify even using the gun. Semi-Pro painter here. I like to use about an 8 inch roller on the top surfaces and along the sides. Gotta keep the nap at about an 1/8 of an inch, and I'm kinda partial to the micro fiber these days, now that I've been doing it for about a year or so. You want to keep that roller moving at about 2ft/sec, and keep changing your travel up so it's going in all directions. Never in a straight line. You don't want a visible line showing up. (The customers REALLY don't like that. Trust me. 😉😲) You want to have a good 2" - 3" inch dry brush handy too for your blending areas. Use the tip of the brush bristles to dab the base and clear where you stop the roller, and kinda "melt" that into the surrounding paintwork. That's gonna give you the best blend for both the base and the clear. There you go. Now you know. 😉😁😆 😂🤣 Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, brother. How you been? 🥳🥳😎

I think the speed that you paint is because u know what ur material is, u been using it everyday and also the spray guns. As long as the outcome finishes is good, speed really doesn't matter. As a painter, i think the only time we slow down due to perhaps change in new paint scheme, or new clear coat that we need to adjust the gun settings and watch the paint flow. Thats it. Once it's dialled in, no issues on that

I have used cheap clear, expensive clear, MS, HS. Slow guns, fast guns. 2 to 3 coats or grip n rip with HS clear. I really dont see much of a difference in the final result. So i choose to take the path of least resistance. MS clears, fast and wet application, get the sucka done ! I like the spray guns that hjt like a bazooka. Im talking large jobs, overall refinishes. Im not in a hurry, its a hobby for me. I just like to use fast drying clears and hit it with 2 coats, done. Its simply less time for trash to land in the clear in my garage. If i had a booth im sure i would do something different. End result is what matters. Go Trig ! 💥💥💥

Also call tack coat, glue coat or grab coat. 😅 There are alot of technique nowadays and it actually makes sense to put a tack coat down on waterbase paint as it usually to prevent the metallic from shifting due to waterbase has tendency like rubberise material even its dried. While for solvent once the paint is dry and the metallic wont shift even u put on a heavy clear coat on to it

Let me start by saying I am an Actual "Pro Painter" here in Custom and Collision........... I don't have many videos on YT because I just don't upload but,,,, Imma tell you this: You can only paint as fast as - The temperature & booth flow allows you to !!!!! I just question the primered edge since sealer wasn't used & blender applied after that..... It definitely helps with coverage when a closer color sealer or a red sealer could've been used & a wet bed of blender does indeed help prevent the "Halo effect" that metallics do when piling up and casting shadows....
@thetriggerman954
@thetriggerman954 6 сағат бұрын
#1 My booth is well over 100° every day and as you see it didn't slow me down, at all. #2 I used no close color sealer and covered fine.. this color called for a light gray or while Uber color which was there, #3 no wet bed needed at all and no Halos. I'm definitely not a social Media pro painter but what I know I am is a great painter in real life. And you can bet your money on that my friend.
