You know, maybe if the FAA would stop forcing perfectly healthy pilots through a mult-month long deferral process because of antiquated "medical" standards we could get more people in the queue. I'm sitting in deferral right now with my fingers crossed and I've talked to so many people that are healthy and physically active but excluded because of some archaic medical standard from 20 years ago. And as much as the AOPA and EAA offer to help, the reality is their hands are mostly tied as well.

I go to school at ATP in LGB and they moved our planes out to accommodate the private jets coming in..

Yes, and there’s retirement charts that show how many people the airlines need to hire to replace those pilots. Jump in anytime!

My wife and I will retire from our current careers in approximately 9 years. We will be 55 years old at the time. If we start on our pilot license now in our spare time, can we be hired as a team to pilot a plane together for an airline? It would be great to walk directly into a 2nd career to develop another retirement and get to travel together.

HELP***** I’m taking blood thinners because of a heart disease I was diagnosed with back in 2014, so I’m waiting to hear back from the FAA. My cardiologist and the examiner says there shouldn’t be a problem getting my 3rd class medical. If I go to the medical office in Oklahoma City, is there a way I could expedite the wait period?

@@thepenmen22 hi there! So I had to take a treadmill stress test to show how my strong my heart is. The medication I was taking was on the unapproved list (Eliquis), But because my heart functioned well enough I was given a special issuance 3rd. I’m in the process of renewing it right now for a second class. Also, I did visit the office in Oklahoma while visiting family but the entire campus was empty. Most everyone was working from home. When I was trying to get the 3rd class last year, all communication was through mail which sucked. But apparently, now AMEs have an online portal to quickly upload documents and hear back from the FAA.

So all they have to do is bring back all the layer off pilots problem solved, no more pilot shortage! With all the pilots wanting to fly, finding 40,000 pilots is a piece of cake.

The eco warriors are attempting ro create a stigma to flying period, especially private jets. From what I read, it's already taken root in Europe. Do you see a time where rich people who can easily afford private aviation, forgo it in the persuit of a higher social credit score? Think about multimillionaires in California who drive Toyota Priuses.

Look into a Part 141 flight school that has a partnership with a University. I went to a DFW flight school and was enrolled at Liberty University online. Post 9/11 GI bill covers everything except PPL.

@@landonb1885 I think they cancel this.... The VA Cancel that FTA flight afflited program where LU has partnership with multiple flight school nationwide where the FAA licensees obtain could be converted into college credit therefore the LU will charge the VA for those flight lessons as "College Credits" towards the BS degree with LU.....
