Its like, when you put a 0 mana "you win" spell in the game, but it can only be discovered randomly. According to you, that would be fine since nobody can put it in the deck right?

What a cool crossover. I know and like Snnuy from Lor. Such a funny and positive guy :) Death knight brought me back to HS but similar to snnuy so many cards in HS are just not fun to play against. It is not even about balance. But Death Knight itself gives me so much joy and nostalgia that I still enjoy this time in HS a lot. Despite the meta, not because of it. I really look forward to the next rotation and more cards for my favorite class. ( for fun and interactive gameplay, runeterra is still delivering )

Frostmourne should be extremely powerful for thematic reasons, if it isn't that just feels wrong. I use it in Death Knight anyway because Arthas without Frostmourne just doesn't seem right.

Imagine Patchwerk getting nerfed to cost corpses. "Destroy a minion on the field. Spend 3 corpses to also destroy a minion on the deck and spend another 3 corpses to destroy a minion on the hand"

Costing corpses might make it more balanced, but it would be one of those things that needs a ridiculous cost (like 6+) since the baseline effect is an assassinate. Otherwise, they could make it so that it destroys things in both players hand/deck.

Funnily enough, I've never managed to use Patchwerk successfully. Half the time the enemy has at least one small minion on the board so this isn't garunteed removal, destroying a card in their deck does nothing unless you're getting to fatigue, and hand is really hit or miss. When you're fighting opponent that by turn 7 have 7 minions on board and like 8 cards in hand, It's just way too slow. You play this, you destroy one of their minions, and then they just kill you. It might be insane in a non-toxic Meta, but Hearthstone has only rarely had a meta that doesn't kill you by turn 4.

Malignant horror just needs to be "spend 5 corpses to summon a malignant horror". The buffs just aren't there in DK to make up for the failstate of it copying post-reborn version

Then kill off the post-reborn version yourself, it only has one hp. 5 corpses for 2/4 with reborn is a very bad payoff, the only reason this card can be somewhat playable is copying buffs, 4/6 horror actually won me 2 arena games today

Bonelord Frostwhisper in lor seems kinda busted not gonna lie. Play this in full ramp in frejlord, and play this on 6, then feel the rush on 7 and she who wanders on 8 (or swap those). You could even play this card on turn 4 or 5 if you ramp enough! With the free card, you can even buried in ice + it that stares in the same turn. Sure, if you play against ionia and they deny your feel the rush, you probably lose, but if any deck can survive three free frejlord lategame bombs deserves to win anyway.

So one thing that confuses me is when they brought up the chart of win rates for classes, if you bother to add them up and get the average, it is 49.54%. That feels very silly, there is no way that you get a draw about 1% of the time in hearthstone these days. I may have quit about 2 years in, but I had about 5k games and only had 3 draws, all from a pissed off Warlock using hellfire to kill us both!

Mtg came out with brothers war blue print cards and they have pretty much the same aesthetic direction as signature cards. But mtg is so much more of a serious and world grounded game and it makes sense to come out in there. Hearthstone just looks goofy with those.

I've been playing Handbuff Death Knight for a while and I really like it, and in it Malignant Horror is one of the big payoff cards. It's just that the archetype itself isn't as strong as some of the other stuff in the game nowadays. You definitely shouldn't run it in a non-handbuff deck though, that's one thing we can agree on.

Malignant horror isn't 'bad'. I mean it's by no means amazing, but it's versatile and decent. Because i'm an f2p shmuck i'm currently grinding gold ranks with a budget unholy deck and i had slots for it. The deck is by no means build around it and i don't even buff them _much_. But they either eat a lot of removal, lock the board a turn or stay around for absolutely fucking ever, and those are three decent results for playing one. Mind you i generate an excess amount of corpses with the deck as well because as i said, budget. It doesn't win you every game, but even getting 4 3/3 with reborn out of it is actually really really decent and is by no means uncommon when you put one down. We gotta put more love out for just decent cards. While not the best in slot if for min maxing your balls off, we should encourage more fluctuation and personal flair and some tcg spirit ;D Not only for budget play, but wouldn't it be nice to ocassionally just see even a slight variance in at least one slot of the 49th meta big priest you play against today ;P?

I feel a lot people overrate Patchwerk. Playing a bit as and against Blood, he isn't that incredibly op. He is a nuiscance and most often only the hand effect matters, because deck is usually negilible and board is not always relevant because Blood has so much better removal than 7 mana Deadly Shot

Control paladin LOVES this card, and so does dragon paladin, but it's better to be pure and win against Ramp/Armor druid instead of even for control or straight up losing for Dragon.

I have won games using Frostmourne so it definitely isn't unplayable, even if this was still at somewhat lower rank. It still doesn't feel right to me to not use it with Arthas. It can actually be pretty strong if you take control of the right minions, it just takes some time to set up, the payoff not really happening until turned 10 just makes it a bit slow. Usually play it in my uber tanky Blood Deathknight Prince Renthal deck.
