Anytime they say "with all due respect", what they really are saying is "I have no respect for you". If these folks didn't want to deal with the Public Defenders offices just hire your own attorney or better yet stop breaking the laws.

Mr. Stover sounds like a dangerous individual. There is no way he should be in contact with the victim of the alleged hammer beating. He continually talked over the judge and prosecutor, claiming superior knowledge of the law and even giving instructions. He could have easily been given more jail time for contempt. If he decides to go pro se without help from council, he will really be "hammering" the last nail in the coffin.

It was interesting where he was saying he hadn't been to jail for violent offences before, and he'd always appeared in court when required and abided by his conditions, then the judge reads his history and he's got a GBH, 2 assaults, 2 counts resisting, 2 violations of his probation and a warrant for failing to appear... That's what I was thinking. All the memorized, useless, nonsense, irrelevant salad words he told the Judge are BS. He's begging the court to release him so, he can gather some evidence. But the Judge is not buying all the BS. I think, he'll try to finish the violence and assault to his victim. No victim, no complainants and no evidence against him. He keeps on repeating every word salad in the Court, and the Judge is not having none of it.

The funny part is knowing the law is normally a good thing but needs to be tempered with context, context that could probably be gained by spending an hour or 2 with a lawyer and going over their jargon and maybe learning actually useful information. But the sites these documents and educational materials come from explicitly tell you to avoid any government entity, lawyer, judge or other court affiliate other than ones they cherry pick if any. They set up a "you vs the world" mentality for you to take on.

Mike is absolutely right at 17:00… defendant Sropher is under the mistaken belief that if he can just get the judge to listen to his nonsense that the judge will dismiss the case. Fortunately that is what the arraignment hearing was for, and maybe like the traffic case with judge Middleton and the sovereign citizen, this defendant will be such a royal pain, the prosecuting attorney will give him a great plea deal just to get rid of him

Then it's a good thing trials aren't (shouldn't?) be decided by looks, but on evidence and testimony. Although in the USA, i would trust the judical system about as far as I could throw it (meaning, not at all). Just the fact that it pressures suspects into pleas - admitting guilt in exchange of shorter sentences - is ridiculous and an affront to the concept of justice.

James Daly needs to be on a beach somewhere, drinking MaiTai's with his wife. He's put in his years, defending people who are in trouble. He looks like he'd rather be anywhere other than here.

I may not be correct, but I believe for the purposes of bond, the judge must believe that the defendant was guilty of the crimes. For the purposes of the actual trial, the judge must be fair and impartial. The person on trial must be found guilty within a reasonable doubt. There is a difference between the judge at the bond hearing and the judge throughout the trial.

I’m a bit late to the game, but a sovcit can be identified by the use of the words “affidavit”, “statues”, for the record”, and “jurisdiction”; any of these words makes me suspicious for a sovcit. Also, making a prolonged speech of big words that make no sense is the nail in the coffin for a sovcit indicator.

It was a bond ruling not a trial. You should have brought evidence that you were getting your life straightened out, that you have ties to the community, that your going to some group activities like church, alcoholics anonymous, etc etc etc…

The funny thing is, you do have the right to choose your own counsel or legal representation. It's called hiring an attorney and paying for your defense with your own money. If you choose to go with court appointed counsel then you don't get to pick from a menu.
