I put my kayak on the windy banks, face the wind and fish out from the bank to 10-15' with a Kietech Fat Swing Impact or Easy Shiner in electric shad. Most times on an underspin. I can go up and down the shoreline and have it all to myself because a boat won't do it! Killer pattern!

Today I went on my local lake and fished the windy points. The wind was 15mph constantly today. It was tough, but put a white terminator spinner bait in my hand and caught 13 with a 5lb kicker from daylight till 11:00 this morning.

You brought up a good point about the offshore fishing getting so popular and so hot Randy blauket talked about this and one of his KZbin posts he thinks in the next 5 to 10 years because of the offshore pressure you're going to see a resurgence in the shallow water bite on a lot of these big tournament lakes. Like my homework is small it doesn't get quality fishing pressure on it it gets a lot of weekend angle or pressure during the summer hardly anything at all in the winter I'm one of like five people that fishes it throughout the winter so we haven't seen the offshore pressure but we still the ones that know about it catch big fish offshore there I watched it happen this weekend memorial Day weekend everybody and their mother shows up to the lake for one of their five fishing trips a year and they were probably 20 boats on my 120 acre lake and they were all piss-pound in the shore I went to a ledge spot that I know about off of a point and was hammering them a guy's pulled up and asked me what I was doing and I was like well they're not biting here I'm going to move on LOL

Swimjig!! Tears it up on wind blown banks. Experiment with trailers, use a heavier swim jig with bulky trailers that kick more water. But if that doesn’t do it, I will Use a more finesse swimjig a 1/4 oz with a fluke or fluke jr,

I always start with these three baits...square bill, lipless bait, and a chatter bait. One of these baits have always produced bites for me.

The dam I usually fish has predominantly clear water and the main forage is tilapia so when it's windy I'm either picking up a swim jig (either a candy craw type colour with a green pumpkin purple flake ultravibe speedcraw trailer or a straight black with a bullfrog coloured ultravibe speedcraw), bladed jig (I like the Daiwa tg bladed jig in summer craw and pair it with a green pumpkin zman razorshadz) or (and this is my secret weapon) a 1/4oz spinnerbait with a single chartreuse willow blade and a watermelon red skirt paired with a watermelon red ultravibe speedcraw (I don't know what it is about this combo but they absolutely crush it, especially on windy days).

I always hear that wind blows bait onto windy banks. Possible, but more probable is it blows plankton onto windy banks and the bait fish follow their food, then the bass follow their food.

I accidentally found this pattern a while back. I was trying to hide from the wind in a cove, but as was working my way out I crossed a point with lots of wind ripping around it. Threw a lipless into the mud line area and it was on. Spot locked there and caught 4-5. Moved to the next point and repeat. Is there actual current moving due to the surface wind?
@jaredraynor90673 жыл бұрын
If your boats moving from the wind, its pushing the water around too. It's a surface current.
