im curious about pv's decision to keep a 1 lander in game 2 given how little time is left. the last thing you want to do is get mana screwed and run over when your opponent probably doesnt have enough time to win 1 regular game let alone 2. just a thought, id like to hear others opinions about this.

If a hand contains one green source, an Attune and a Longtusk, it's certainly worth considering a keep. Cherry on top for a Harnessed Lightening/Magma Spray, or Servant and Bristling Hydra in hand - it has worked for me.

The mana fixing is just so good and the curve is like 2.66CMC in Temur. Attune into longtusk cub is a very aggressive start given that an unchecked cub can literally take over a game forcing your opponent to continuously chump unfavorably will the cub gets bigger.

Ryan's absolutely right. That hand was stacked, and the one land being a tapland is a bit unfortunate because it stops your optimal Attune -> Cub line, but it was certainly close enough to be playable.

Champion of Wits is not Eternalized... The Scarab God's ability makes a copy and the copy does have a CMC so it is wrong to use the eternalize token instead

Yeah, this confused me as to why they used the eternalize token there.

It's almost always better to go wide in a board stall. Angel going wide is still enough to break the Chandra next turn in conjunction with the Freebooter, then he has free reign in the air while the servos help hold the ground. It's also much less vulnerable to removal; if they Harnessed or Abrade a tall Angel, you lost your five mana spell to their two mana spell. If that happens to a wide angel, you kept something like two mana worth of value around. It just so happens that wide Angel is worse against exactly Magma Spray, but that's the only card in the Energy deck that makes it worse while everything else makes it better. Active GPG is one of the few cases where you routinely go tall due to the difference between 4 and 6 toughness; much harder to hit with Harnessed, can't be hit by Glorybringer or Chandra. But 1 vs 3 toughness is pretty minor on a flyer most of the time, especially in this matchup.

King Dopey if you are referring to game 1 then Paulo had a treasure token from Vraska he used for the 3rd mana.

?? These games were absolutely frustrating to watch. It wasn't amazing at all. It was just a battle of attrition that was relatively easy to predict. You just out-tempo play the opponent's scarab god buy removing his mana-efficient removal and keep up your own activations. The scry to the bottom of the freebooter made me sick.

Man, watching the scry to the bottom of the freebooter made me sick.. It made no sense there and was indeed the tempo play he needed to make to win that game. Why risk top-decking anything else? He didn't have many other cards that would get the job done there. He already had the win on the board otherwise, plus you get to see his hand and play around any other card that would be problematic. Freebooter taking back the abrade is what would have won that game.. and fading the eventual get-back of Vraska was his entire game plan and should have been the entire time.. spending how many minutes to figure that scry out and then to continue to do nothing after figuring out what his game plan was already, wtF? I could understand the frustration, seriously.. slow play.
