I've got the raw upgrade on one of my FS5s and an Odyssey Q7+. While it would be nice to have continuous slo-mo, I think the price is a bit over the top so I'll be giving it a miss.

Absolutely great review from Carl and Phillip.

Hi, late to this party so hopefully we'll get a reply, but does the raw upgrade to give the fs5 4k/50 or 4k/120burst only recordable on an external recorder or will it record that internally? Annnnnnd is the raw output only on the sdi or is it via hdmi too? We have a ninjaV so hoping to use that.

Hey, do you know if sound can be recorded (with internal or external microphone) ? when filming action sports video, you might want to simply do timeramps at some point of the trick and... definitely don't want to loose audio. On Sony RX100 IV, audio is not recorded in slowmotion mode and it's a true problem as i end up having to do external sound recording and sync afterward which is time consuming for nothing. Thanks.
@ProAVTV7 жыл бұрын
Slow motion always disables audio i'm afraid. One of the main challenges with slow motion video Carl

really like this video series. Jealous of your softer outdoor light over there.

Does the continuous HFR conforms video to 25p automatically or I need to slow it down in the timeline?
@StudioGalvan7 ай бұрын
A Major point that was not discussed is ... 😳 If you feel the FS5 is still too large, just put Philip Bloom in the shot! 😉
@emilianfloares94966 жыл бұрын
If I will use the HFR Upgrade, will I have to wait for the shot to be recorded on the SD card like I do now?
@andpolitis7 жыл бұрын
Hi nice review guys! Can you please tell me, the HFR use a crop sensor (windowed) such as A7sii?
@ProAVTV7 жыл бұрын
No, its using the full sensor. Thanks for watching! Carl

Maybe a stupid question, but if you purchase the upgrade, can you toggle between shooting 120 continuous and burst mode so you can still record at the higher frame rates?
@ProAVTV7 жыл бұрын
Yes you can Carl
@ChadWork17 жыл бұрын
Hi Carl, Do you need to already have the RAW upgrade in order to install the HFR upgrade?

no they are separate.

When shooting in RAW on Inferno, it conforms my 120fps 4 sec. burst to 60 fps.... Why does it do this, and why can't I get the original 120 fps burst in premiere timeline!?!?
@brmoogma7 жыл бұрын
the price for the update is too high....
@greytail20097 жыл бұрын
What shutter speed is recommended when using this upgrade? Or does it set it automatically?
@philipbloom7 жыл бұрын
As close to double your frame rate as is possible, so here we shot 1/215th second
@ProAVTV7 жыл бұрын
Like Philip said above. The normal rule is to double your frame rate Carl
@roger787 жыл бұрын
Correct me if I am wrong but, are u charging money form your website to an upgrade that is free on Sony's website?
@ProAVTV7 жыл бұрын
+roger78 No of course not, we would never do something like that. The overall firmware that enables this update to be installed is free. But the actual HFR update is paid. Carl

Hey dude thx for the video, Can i get video recorded from atomos 120/24p I mean a final video 24p directly slow... because I tried hard but átomos keeps the final file 120p on Normal speed I have fs5
@MotzInfills6 жыл бұрын
Have you found a solution for this? Every time I do the raw 4k 120 burst mode for 4 seconds, it converts it to 60 fps and I cannot get that slow-motion back!
