He can always go back to making arrows - that’s what a fletcher is - someone who makes arrows for archery - in fact, if he knew someone named Bowman or Archer, they could go into business together!

Godber only did one stint inside and that was down to tragic circumstances, ending up in a relationship with Ingrid and determined not to go back kept him on the straight

Ronnie said it failed because in Porridge it was Fletcher running circles around the establishment, whereas in Going Straight it was Fletcher being walked all over by the establishment
