Hi sir, isnt the acceleration supposed to be uncontant and hence we should do integration?

Yes the acceleration is changing based on the distance S. However, since are finding the acceleration at s=0.4, we are finding the exact acceleration at that instance. In this case we wouldn't do integration because that would lead to looking for velocity.
