I doubt it will come back down, they've tried to push the price up, they failed with $1,200 but $1,000 they started selling more...they succeeded in pushing up by pricing it so high that even $1,000 became acceptable to a lot of people ( still not worth it imo) i don't think they'll charge any less than $1,000. They could even try and get away with 1200 but I don't think they'd be that stupid.....but they are ngreedia so 🤷

Sitting on my 3090 I bought in late 2020, I'm definitely upgrading to the 50 series when it comes out, but I see no rush. More time to budget the build, would be my first setup with 4k and dual monitors.

Depends on the price of the the 5000 series. 3090 upgrade to a 5080 or 4090 has to make sense price wise, and if you really need to. I sit out again next gen, due to pricing.

I don't think the 5000 series will be worth it for gaming this generation. I have a 4080 and it runs circles around all modern games, and I don't see that changing until the PS6 launches(probably in 2028). I will skip the 5000 series altogether, and maybe even wait till the 7000 series comes out before upgrading.

I bought my 7800X3D and 4090 FE in January of this year. People called me crazy as 5090 and Zen 5 were about to launch. With the Nvidia delays and also how powerful the 7800X3D is compared to the new Zen 5 chips, I got no regrets. Enjoying my setup to the fullest playing at ultra-wide 3440x1440p and using DLDSR for titles that I completely manhandle. Frames like butter.

@@anitaremenarova6662 yeah, and wait over a year for the next generation of RTX just so that I get “the best value?” Best shinny thing is always around the corner. I rather enjoy my next gen GPU for a year plus than not. But I get if you don’t have disposable income why these things matter so much to you. This isn’t a hobby for everyone. Keep holding out on that GTX1060, sure it’s still doing good. 🤣

I need to replace my aging gaming PC by sometime next year. In addition to gaming, I may do some video editing (not Hollywood level) since I am also a drone pilot. Depending on the recommendations of my research and forum advice for CPUs, I would go with with either a Ryzen 9700X or 9900X (or X3D variants if both capable and released within a reasonable time frame) or Intel equivalents ( if they get a miracle cure for their problematic CPUs). On the GPU side, I would go with the Radeon Navi 48 or an upgraded model of the 7900 XT/XTX (if such models are released along with the RDNA5 series) or models or sub-models of Nvidia RTX 5070/5080 lines. There is a slim chance that I would consider an Intel Battlemage GPU if it meets my needs. However, unlike in the past, since I may do both gaming and drone video editing, I will make a decision on the CPU first and then get an appropriate GPU (along with decent RAM) to avoid or minimize potential bottlenecks. Lets pray that Nvidia doesn't screw over gamers again.

Good news.... They should delay until the end of 2025 to launch. Players just spent $2,000 on a 4090, but the connector burned out a few months later and they're all out of money.
