Love the videos. I have a question regarding activator. I’ve seen your video about the different activators you use. is there a rule of thumb when trying a new film as to which brand of activator to use? For example I bought a signature film from dip pros and bought my paint. Clear. And activator from Ohw. I tested it on some speed shapes and was getting over activation every time while reducing the amount of activator sprayed each time. So I tried getting dip pros activator to match the brand of film to the brand of activator and my first dip came out great. Also I am using aerosol for everything since I just started hydro dipping and live in a small home with no shop. Keep up the great work!! Thanks

I recommend people pick one activator and become really comfortable with that one, then always start with whichever one you are comfortable with and go from there. Test and see what that film likes, if it doesn't work then I try a new activator.

Ohw activator, in my experience, is a very aggressive activator. It is good but try waiting less time between activating and dipping. That seemed to help me.

@@AllThingsFunHydrographics so I had a weird one happen on this project. I used OHW white base coat. I cleaned and degreased the speed shapes. Painted. Dipped. Cleared everything went great. So I moved onto my actual project which is a Xbox series controller that the original color of the plastic was black. I scuffed and degreased just like I did for the speed shape. Painted it with the same white base coat. As it dried it turned a weird blue green tint. I added another coat thinking maybe the black was still coming through but it did not improve. It’s my personal piece so I decided to go ahead and dip and clear. Any ideas as to why the white base coat would turn to another color?

I’ve seen ppl dip Air Force ones and other leather/canvas shoes but it’s a shoe I’d be hella sore dipping my Air Force ones and stepping in a dog pile you know lol
