No one is mentioning that Beterbiev came up in the same system as Bivol, fighting guys like Bivol all the time. This is where his style evolved to defeat this type of style. He kills in and out style with constant pressure and cutting the ring. It's nothing new to him. Will be interesting to see if Bivol can find a counter to the counter style.

Beterbiev's performance lately has been improving, even though he is already 40 years old. He finished off prime Gvozdyk, a very good complete boxer. As well as Callum Smith, Callum Johnson, Browne, Smith Jr., Yarde, these are very good boxers who had never been knocked out in their boxing careers.

Not impressive. None of them were considered GOATs, and none of them great. Never been KOed is nothing uncommon in boxing. Bivol's jab and defense wins, otherwise Beterbiev has to knock him out. Bivol has never been knocked down in any round. Bivol has never had a count on him. Good luck with that.

Sometimes boxing comentators try to over discribe the boxers that they are talking about. Bivol is not cautious, he is disciplined. By avoiding slugfest situations, Bivol remains true to his game plan which is high punch count and to go 12 rounds. He actually trains for 12 rounds. For Beterbiev to win, he must knock out Bivol which he obviously can do with ether hand. Bivol, is also a master at ducking out of corners and keeping the fight in the center of the ring. Beterbiev is and inside butcher. Bivol is and outside tactician. An important aspect to this fight will also be who was picked as a judge. Are the judges rating hard punches more than high count punches? At the end of the day, if the fight goes the distance, Bivol should win by split decision. If Beterbiev can corner Bivol against the ropes and beat on him several times, then Bivol will wear out by the tenth round. If not, Beterbiev's 39 years with hundreds of boxing matches under his belt and a recent surgical operation may doom Beterbiev because no one can beat father time and going the distance is not in Beterbiev's natural game plan. This is a 50/50 fight. My call is that Bivol wins by a very close split decision because Beterbiev is not just a hard puncher but he is also a very good boxer. Bivol will stick and move, score and play frustration defence, Beterbiev will still stock Bivol for most of the fight. Beterbiev must knock out Bivol to win. If it goes to the judges, Bivols usual high punch count will be enough to edge out a win...

Let’s be real… Bivol has avoided this fight since 2016-2017. He’s aged out Beterbiev. And now when he finally agrees to fight him, Beterbiev is coming off of an injury that takes 4-6 months to recover from. And he suffered the injury 4 months ago. Not to mention he’s 40 now. Had this fight happened when it was supposed to, 3-5 years ago, Bivol wouldn’t stand a chance. But now the cards are stacked against Beterbiev

Which means he didn’t have the most productive camp. He was having to find creative solutions to do cardio. I would have rather seen this fight happen in a month or two. I think it was a promoter thing that stopped thiss fight from happening sooner. Matchroom and Top Rank. Bivol doesnt have that much pull like Mayweather or Canelo. It took Saudi to come out of nowhere and dump the money to make it this happen.

Most people had no idea who he was until Canelo chose to fight him, with one belt over the guy with three, because Canelo knew that he would be an easier fight.

After watching both of their few last fights. Subject to questioning, I don’t see bivol hurting beterbiev. I see beterbiev eventually walking him down. They are the same height and have same physical attributes. The power will be the difference. People don’t think beterbiev is a smart boxer, his last fight was a clinic countering jabbing moving keeping distance he had everything. If he comes up 90% bivol in trouble.

I keep getting taken back to Beterbiev v Brown, and the adversity He faced after suffering the cut. Turned it up a few notches when He was told He had one more round. Its almost as though Beterbiev is in cruise mode most fights until he is either falling behind (rare) or senses the end. Beterbiev round 5 stoppage.

Beterbiev will time Bivol's left hook to the liver..often 3rd, sometimes 4th punch of his forward moving combo..Bivol's head is wide open for the taking then, Beterbievs team trains for these shots, joseph smith was signaling his overhead right with two left jabs and paid for it..Bivol's left hook to the liver is the same..habit's don't change he must be throwing that for 20 years, no way Beterbiev won't punish that.. @@michaelcollins6976 I predicted Dubois mauling AJ too, had the same backlash from all the fanboys ( of whom the majority are Bivol fanboys now I reckon)..Bivols three punch combo starting with the left straight is a staple piece, you see him throwing that dozens of times in all of his fights..it is very rhythmic too, pap pap boom (low left hook)..all the opponent has to do is guard his head well either forward or backward, that's when he goes for it, the body..Artur might lure him into throwing a lot of these if he can fake a hurt liver well, for Bivol won't commit to anything the whole fight for certain..Artur is one of the best counter punchers and team Bivol knows this too, but as I said these combos are muscle memory, you can't adjust shit about them..I'll be here after the fight as promised to Teddy you'll buy the pints buddy..

@@ABWIP Not an AJ fan to be honest, I prefer Usyk and often I side with the puncher than the boxer. Some of my fondest mems are from the early 80s when Kirkland Laing was out boxing Colin Jones only to be sent into La la land both times in round 9. Berty is a fine fighter from my layman's point of view but so is Bivol. Just didn't like Berty's arrogance in the press conferences. Still, all this counter punching and liver fakes won't mean Jack shit if Berty's defense is similar to the way Page walked straight through it to put him on his arse. And Bivol won't allow him to recover either. Let's face it, I could have walked through Berty's defense the way Page did that night. Hope the Berty love in group mud bath goes well with you after the fight. Get yerself all oiled up buddy.

Teddy is one of the few Boxer Analysis that doesn't just see Beterbiev as a Brute Force Brawler. He's sees the suble skill and nuance of technique.
