This is the second time I watched this tutorial. You are definitely a teacher with your concise instructions. I was trying to make a birthday cake with candles on a curve array modifier. I was surprised that parenting the flame to the candle didn't work in the array. The flame didn't follow the candle. Anyway, I ended up joining the candle and the flame which created more problems for the simple deform. Great work.
