職人の心意気此処に在りって感じですね。 誰にも見られない処に銘を残すのは、100年後か200年後かにこれを修理するとなった時に手を下す後世の職人に恥ずかしくない仕事と思って貰いたい。 その証ってところですかね。

Мне нравится смотреть, как горит огонь, как течет вода и как работают японские мастера. 火が燃える様子、水が流れる様子、そして日本の職人がどのように働くかを見るのが好きです。

瞬きするのも忘れそうになるくらい見入ってしまった。なぜか線を引く場面で息止めてたw 一つ一つの作業が「美しい」この一言に尽きる。木を切るところから完成まで皆さんが盤をとても 愛しているのが伝わって余計に美しく感じました。こういう技術を継承していくことが大切ですね。

Very satisfying to watch these master craftsmen creating something beautifull. I love japanese crafts,every step is so deliberate. I can call myself the proud owner of a handcrafted japanese santoku knife and i love it 😃 Much love from germany.

this is unbelievably elegant. hiding the signature between the leg and the board shows how much they care about every little detail. they are making museum pieces that will be there for centuries.

I've known for years the Japanese magnificent obsession with attention to detail, the various steps in the manufacture of these Go boards is no exception. The many steps in making the feet, a part of the board not really seen in the use of the board, just shows how much craftsmanship and care goes into making these works of art!

I really like how each one has different dimensions, some are taller, some are a bit wider or thinner. Each one feels unique and gives it character. Expert craftsmen displaying their brilliance.

Shogi boards range in thickness from approximately 3.3cm (1 sun) to approximately 24cm (8 sun). The size of the board is constant. Height 1 shaku 2 sun (approximately 36.4 cm), width 1 shaku 1 sun (33.3 cm)

本当に美しい作業だ、日本の職人の美が詰まってる。 これこそ和の心って感じがする。 昔は何年か将棋をテレビで観戦していたが(羽生世代全盛期)、将棋は駒も所作もゲーム性も何から何まで美しい。 たかだかテーブルゲームの種類1つにここまで伝統文化が詰め込まれているのは惚れ惚れする。

There are a wide variety of products, from simple items that anyone can buy to high-end items like those shown in this video.

i agree with keeping things old school, but the man should really invest in a more modern chainsaw, that has a chain brake, a membrane carborator and an oil pump. also his chain is way too loose, it should not be dangling off the rail so deep you can see the driving teeth.

昔父が買った将棋盤もさぞ高かった記憶があります。 当時は高過ぎと思いましたが、この素晴らしい動画のお陰でそれ以上の価値があることがわかりました。 足の付け根に名入れがあるなんて絶対に分からなかったし、将棋盤1つにこれでもかという程の手間や職人技が施されていることを知ることができ感動しました。 4月から小学1年生になる娘が将棋に興味を持つようになったのも何かの縁かも。 押し入れの奥にあるはずのあの時の将棋盤を探してみます。

@@pocchi2898 ところがね、金属加工の世界でも未だに平らな面を作るのに職人の手によるキサゲ加工で仕上げているのです。 ましてや木の加工ともなれば経年変化を計算に入れた職人の仕事は不可欠です。 江戸指物の職人の仕事は機械では到底真似できないものです。

For those curious, they sell them for around 1,000,000 yen, or $7,340.70 US. Expensive, but as you can see in the video a lot of skilled manual labor goes into these. Add in the fact that the wood is 300-700 years old and you get a once in multiple lifetimes board.

@@MrTheDeathKing The people buying boards of this quality will mainly be Go & Shogi professionals, not just random "bourgeois". (Also tournament organizers.) There are Go & Shogi leagues in Asian countries, pros make a living playing those games.

The correct spelling is knew not new pronounced the same (but two different meanings) I hope this helps. Japan is a special place with special people. Their old world handmade craftsmanship is unparalleled. Everything they build is built to perfection and built to last. When you watch them work they aren't just going through the motions like it's just another job and paycheck. They are working and crafting their art with pride, care, attention to detail, and passion for what they do. It's truly amazing and extremely impressive! I seriously hope to get to visit Japan one day.

I spent a little over 2 years there in the late 70's. Had a great time and would like to go visit again but it's not likely to happen.

​@@JesseCase while it's still impressive not all things are superior blades like katana for example forged traditionally are actually inferior to modern forged ones simply because we made advancements.

Love the channel grate vids. I done joinery and carpentry and wish I had the talent that these craftspeople had. Even discarding a piece if it not exact copy is itself a true mark of respect to the product in the end.

It is very calming to listen to the sound of a very sharp chisel and the movement of the hands of a Master Craftsman. I look for tools that have been tossed in a box. Some are hundreds of years old. I bring them back to life. You can know the craftsman by using their tools. I am amazed at how you hold and execute yours! Thanks for sharing! RWB ❤🎉
