wow! to translate into Human scale this (royal?) doll couple and their amazing garments, accessories, etc.- the preparation for 2 adult-sized equivalents would be very labour intensive! And the weight of their garments, gosh! I hope these doll-artists, and future ones, keep going for another 1000 years. Finding apprentices to learn the ‘trade’ must be challenging. I am Canadian and ignorant of Japanese culture, but when I watch videos like these and other national artisans, I get the impression Japan really appreciates and honours such talented men and women. This process is so amazing. the attention to detail and the precise way things are done is amazing. These dolls are exquisite. I have a few Japanese dolls that i have bought at thrift stores and i am always amazed by the quality and craftmanship in each doll. I do not own one of these dolls but i would love to. stunning.
