I’ve copied your process where you do one light all the way and then assembly line the rest. I can blow through 30*commercial lights in a matter of 2 or 3 hours of head down work. My problem is the amount of loads I have to do not having a truck lol . I’ll be upgrading to a truck soon. My Camry can haul 7 of the huge squares without my kids in the car lol

Tough to see prices tanking like this. I like how you set up your deconstruction assembly line going down the line one tool at a time to be as efficient as possible. Enjoyed watching the longer vid. Have a good week.

Hell yeah brother 🤟🏻 excited for this one. It’s already bedtime up north here but I’ve a shat load of lights to go through tomorrow and get broken down. Haven’t had time to break down transformers for about a month so I think I got about 500 to break down. Should make for a great pay day. It’s peak garbage season right now so I’m buried all day dropping off bins. Only time to grab the real good stuff. I’ve probably dumped 30 tons of scrap I’d normally separate out but no dam time. Keep the good work flowing buddy 👌🏼

You made light work of that lot.🙂 I loved the JOL cam view. As always, I can never get enough of splitting trannies. Looks like you might be making like a cyclone separator for your sluce, like a blue bowl set up with that light cover I'm guessing. Nice. Those LED drivers are simple to open up, peel the bottom off and knock the ends off and left with extruded case and circuit board buried in plastic. Not much weight but depends on quantity and Al seems to be holding price better than copper atm. Love the vids always.

Another awesome/informative video, brother! Quick question… when you get so many lights with all those nice sized glass panes, have you ever looked into selling them as well instead of just shattering them? I know there ought to be some artists/photographers, and such that might be interested in buying them off of you. I mean, you probably won’t make as much as you do with copper or aluminum, but heck, even just getting $2-3/piece can be a nice little extra $$ in your pocket instead of just being shattered and trashed. Keep up the awesome content! 😎✌🏽👍🏽

I wish I could find some one to buy them but when you get 100's of them it's a hard sell. I would be glad to give them away if I could. I have thought of crushing it small enough to use as glass beads for a blast cabinet or even grit for steps. Thanks for the suggestion & for watching.

Hey man I love the videos. Me and family watch them. I find them relaxing and very enjoyable. I just wanna know how you go about getting those lights!! Do you buy them buy the weight of shred or do you buy them half of the yard value? I bought 10 transformers from a electric company in my area and I spent 75 bucks for them and I kinda screwed my self. I'm just confused man!!
@ProjectShopFl
@ProjectShopFl 2 жыл бұрын
I buy them by weight, usually an iron/aluminum price. On transformers I pay more than the scrap yards because I upgrade them.

Now that prices are dropping especially copper, how is it gonna affect your scrapping? Are you gonna stockpile, keep selling anyway, or slow down scrapping?
@ProjectShopFl
@ProjectShopFl 2 жыл бұрын
It does not effect me at all, I always buy at local market prices just like the scrap yards. I never sit on scrap, it takes up room and is holding up money that could be used for more scrap.
@joshp6061
@joshp6061 2 жыл бұрын
@@ProjectShopFl I see that’s smart, but with lower prices to sell that will mean an essentially slower profit, right? You’ll have to process more scrap to get the same payout as before
