Japanese factories seem to have a very chilled vibe where everyone loves his work and is fully dedicated to quality.. It can be one of the reasons why Made in Japan has quality as well.. There is a passion towards their work and they must be proud of what they do..

How could someone be passionate about making 10,000 pencils a day, every day, for their entire career? That's called lack of ambition.

@@theupscriber65 It's a honest job. No more, no less. Everybody needs one, and there is no shame in that. Also, a person's identity is not exclusively defined by his or her job. Someone's absence of "professional ambition" doesn't correlate to their ambition in other aspects of their lives like hobbies, crafts, sports, charity, family, travel, education ... Don't reduce "ambition" to something that can exist only at work. Ambition is also not necessarily synonymous to "climbing the ladder".
@qwerty1123112 жыл бұрын
@@theupscriber65 I would off myself if my life was being a factory worker, but that isn’t because there’s a low ceiling even with extreme ambition. I would do the same if I was an investment banker, where solid ambition and work ethic ends up with you as an MD making 8 figures a year.

Not me getting emotional at the music swell when the pencils were perfectly lined up going into their little boxes. @ 9:30 🥲 I guess, as an American, I feel like I’ve been robbed of quality craftsmanship and a human touch in everyday products outside of mass chains. I dunno, maybe it’s dum. I know they’re just little pencils and stuff, but I really enjoy the idea of the things I use, especially art supplies and stuff I use to create my own things that have been crafted by people who care. The Japanese are just bada$$es at craftsmanship♥️ thanks for the video!

We take a pencil to make a note without ever thinking of the processes, the years of evolution of ideas to improve the machines, the workers, etc. I guess this all started with people drawing with burned sticks, then somebody thinking "I could just collect the charcoal off the end of the stick and ... maybe ... compress it? Eventually, he saw a market for his crude, artisinal pencils, and thought "I could automate this process", and the first simple machine was made. And gradually, over hundreds of years and millions of improved ideas, the modern pencil took shape. But it's not only pencils - almost everything we use has been mass-produced, and has gone through the same process of invention and improvement. I just watched a video of several hundreds of thousands of screws of different sizes, threads, etc, being made *per day* in a small workshop full of machines, by one man. It gives a new appreciation for the things we use every day.

There's a certain quality about using Japanese pencil , compared to other cheap pencils. It feels like workers actually care about how each pencils come into being,... instead of just meeting the quota. After watching this video, I won't take pencil lightly, knowing the work that went behind making it.

Care was taken to make sure the pencils are straight and leads in center not to mention the quality of the wood. Seems like a quality product that would carry some kind of premium over your standard pencil. Desirable products hold desirable profits.
