One of the most thrilling episodes yet of PRODIGY, as four kids from a neighboring bowling center descend upon Brunswick Zone Roswell, leaving only one of our players to defend the home turf.
Now, as for the name of this week's show: "The Great Potato Salad Hurl." I know you're wondering. The reason for the name is simple. The who reason why we skipped a week and didn't do a PRODIGY last week is because I was home sick barfing my brains out with food poisoning from...you guessed it...some bad potato salad I bought. Of course, I won't mention where I bought it. Or will I?
As always, your comments are welcome. But remember, the mission of PRODIGY BOWLERS TOUR is to Celebrate Junior Bowling while we Elevate Junior Bowlers. So please keep your comments in that spirit. Remarks that are intended to insult or demean youth bowlers are not welcome and will be removed.
As always, it's Coach Randy Brown behind the mic with the play-by-play call. Recorded Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Brunswick Zone Roswell in Roswell, Georgia.

Randy, as always, you did a great job on the commentary, but it occurred to me during the broadcast that it might be interesting to add some bio information, especially about the bowlers we haven't seen before, or don't see too often, such as how long they've been bowling, league average, high sanctioned single/triple, that sort of thing.
@gradjohnson1636
@gradjohnson1636 6 жыл бұрын
john crofts that's a great idea
@ProdigyBowlersTour
@ProdigyBowlersTour 6 жыл бұрын
I agree that it's a great idea. Honestly, there are a lot of enhancements that could be added. Like listing the bowling balls in each player's arsenal (I wish I had a dollar for every time someone has suggested that). While I'm not a big fan of the arsenal idea (I'm a coach, so I'm more interested in HOW they're throwing it than WHAT they're throwing), THIS is an excellent suggestion. We have, occasionally, had more information to work with on these kids. It's a fine line. I don't want to reveal too much about them -- they are, after all, still kids. But things like average, high game, high series, other accomplishments on the lanes, certainly seem like fair game. There are, of course, certain logistical issues involved. For starters, I don't have a form designed to collect this information. Handing out blank sheets of paper and asking everyone to write down pertinent facts about themselves might turn into an ordeal. But I will noodle on this and see if there isn't a way to move in this direction in the near future. I actually thought about doing a series of PRODIGY SHORTS that were, essentially, a "get to know them" feature on our regulars. Sort of an "Up Close and Impersonal" feature, if you will. But like with all things related to video production, it's a lot of work, and I already do a lot of work just getting these shows out as they are. I'm not looking to make too much more work for myself, if you know what I mean. I still actually have a day job during the week.
@johncrofts9939
@johncrofts9939 6 жыл бұрын
I agree wholeheartedly that you have to protect the kids, which is why I only suggested "neutral" information like their stats. I also recognize that putting on this broadcast is a lot of work for you. Would it be workable to get some of the kids to help you gather the stats info? Perhaps a couple of the U20's? Or perhaps one of the other coaches? Either way, I continue to enjoy, and look forward to, the broadcasts.

I don’t know if you have been seeing my comments randy but I would like to hear your input on this. You should do a series where you take a bowler and explain how they bowl with a bunch of different camera angles and some cool graphics. It could be called “How they do it”

whenever we raise enough money on patron to afford the new camera, as of right now everything is done on an IPhone i believe
@ProdigyBowlersTour
@ProdigyBowlersTour 6 жыл бұрын
Never. Here's the deal: All the camera moves are done in post-production. (And they still will be when the new camera arrives.) We shoot in 4K. Edit in 720. That gives us the most possible pixels to throw away. When we "zoom in" (it's a virtual zoom, not an optical zoom) on a portion of the screen, the lower the resolution we edit in, the more pixels we can throw away without losing crispness in the footage. It looks great on a phone, which is how most people watch it. Me? I have a 5K Retina Display iMac, and it's quite acceptable on that, too.

Would you like to buy a spare ball or reactive ball? If your buying a spare ball,you can just make sure it has no cuts on it or anything. If your buying reactive ball,i reccomend you to buy a new one because used one if not taken care properly, oil will go in the ball and it would not hook. Who uses a reactive ball that cannot hook! Make sure the person your buying from takes care of his ball and cleans his ball oftenly.

@ProdigyBowlersTour
@ProdigyBowlersTour 6 жыл бұрын
I was wondering when someone would get around to asking that question. I named it in honor of why we didn't have a PRODIGY episode last week. I was home barfing my brains out for about 30 hours straight with food poisoning from some bad potato salad I bought and ate that Friday night, prompting me to stay home and not go to the bowling center on 9/23 as planned. And I would tell you where I got that potato salad but......oh wait......I did.

BrownswickBowling when do you plan on being there
@ProdigyBowlersTour
@ProdigyBowlersTour 6 жыл бұрын
I don't plan on being there. I'm working with someone there to develop a pilot program where we have someone at the site do all the work of getting the kids' parents to sign the talent release forms, granting me permission to put their kids on KZbin, and shooting the video there. Then sending me the footage, where I'll then do my magic with it and turn it into a PRODIGY BOWLERS *SATELLITE* TOUR bowl cast, just like the ones you see here. We're in the early stages. I'm still developing the handbook full of instructions and checklist items to enable someone to do this remotely and get the footage to me. PSB would be our pilot show. Once we get the kinks hammered out, we'll take it nationwide. How cool would THAT be?

Wow Dawson looks like a left handed Bo Burton Jr. A great talent you are!!! Tyrrell has a better follow through than Belmo! These young men can go pro when it's time. Great match!! What a Title Match! Kudos to Logan! Welcome back and great bowling! Tyrrell,so sorry you were dealing with back issues...you're one tough bowler! I hope to see you bowl again! The other two young men that lost in the first two matches have a lot of talent too! Just need to watch them swing planes. Best matches I've seen!! Great job Randy....The kids and parents are lucky to have you! By the way...I'd much rather listen to your play by play Announcing alongside Randy Pedersen on the PBA tour...then his other partners(they don't seem to have a clue). Except for Rob Stone who coined hambone for 4 strikes in a row.. He was real good but didn't have your knowledge......so in my book you win and That's the truth! @ProdigyBowlersTour
@ProdigyBowlersTour 6 жыл бұрын
Hey, @ztheg: I'm the narrator. And I'm the guy behind PRODIGY. I don't "hate" on Bryant's swing. I'm a USBC Silver Certified Coach and a former PBA player. I've been around the game most of my life, and have won a bunch of tournaments. I'm trying to HELP Bryant get better. And as the Executive Producer and play-by-play voice on this show, I'm going to use my position to try to help these kids, whether they bowl in the youth program I run or not. Some of them have coaches. Some don't. Bryant does. But his coach was sidelined for a while after suffering a stroke a few weeks ago. So I offered some advice in the Coach's Clicker feature. That's what I do. Listen. You might learn something.
