PRODIGY BOWLERS TOUR -- 12-31-2017 "DOUBLE BALL ELIMINATION CHALLENGE"

It's the final PRODIGY BOWLERS TOUR episode of 2017, and includes the second half of a double-header telecast that we filmed back on December 16th. It's the first of its kind DOUBLE BALL ELIMINATION CHALLENGE, featuring ten kids in an exciting format where the low pinfall in each frame drops into an Elimination Bracket, from which one player is eliminated each frame. Finally, when only two players remain -- one from the Winner's Bracket and one from the Elimination Bracket -- those two go head-to-head for the title.
This special episode includes year-end countdown of COACH RANDY'S TOP TEN BEST THINGS THAT HAPPENED ON PRODIGY BOWLERS TOUR IN 2017.

Oh wow! Can't believe I made the top 10 list! And even pronounced my last name perfectly! Awesome episode! This one was so crazy! Logan got off the hook so many times in the eliminator round....I was sure both Faith and Josh would do him in the way they were each bowling. Josh letting him off was the biggest shock of all in this. I would love to bowl with and against some of these kids one day!

I love the new format for the bowler introductions. It is nice to hear the name, age, league average, and history on the current season. It makes the telecast feel just like a PBA telecast in the quality. Keep up the good work.

From what I could tell from the final match is that Logan needed to use a ball with surface. That Motiv Paranoia was too skid flippy and wouldn’t give him a good enough reaction or really any miss area. Just an observation. Also happy New Years to everyone here at Prodigy!

As long as you're a junior bowler (haven't turned 20 as of August 1, 2017), you're welcome to come bowl with us any Saturday that we tape PRODIGY. The best place to keep close track of when we'll be taping is to join our Facebook group (it's called "Prodigy Bowlers Tour," as you might expect). Be sure to answer the three questions posed when you ask to join; otherwise I'll assume you're a spambot and will decline your request. If you're not yet 18, you'll need to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian when you come to bowl PRODIGY. They'll be required to sign a Talent Release Form that basically gives me permission to photograph their minor child and put you on KZbin. I won't let you bowl without having the release signed. Bring enough $$ to pay for your bowling. There's no entry fee, per se, but you are responsible for your lineage. Open play rates apply.

Dylan Scott - I have answered this question a few times. No, Logan and the rest of the PRODIGY kids are not signed as staffers with any ball manufacturer. It just so happens, we have a brand evangelist in our midst and he’s made it accessible for some of our kids to get their hands on some new equipment.

Nate Johnson - League averages. House shot in most cases. We don’t have a sport shot LEAGUE for junior bowlers at Roswell. We’ve talked about doing one, but there’s been limited interest in the past.

Pretty similar. Both Brunswick Zones. Both have the same masking units. I'd say the maintenance issues might be a little more under control at Austell, but things are improving at Roswell. They're similar. Roswell's in a much nicer neighborhood.

Actually, the origin of the name "Brownswick" dates back to 1981 when I lived in a house in Arlington, TX and built a bowling lane for my son in the garage. When I went to paint the rake on the lane, I was going to paint the name "Brunswick" on the face of it, and then got creative and painted the name "Brownswick" instead. Jonathan Mosebach - Ban them? Heck, I WEAR them sometimes during league. They’re a fantastic way to block out all the extraneous noise, like when there are screaming idiots in the house. Plus, fir players prone to overthinking their games, the help get one’s mind calmed and not so analytical. I’ve had some of my best nights bowling league wearing my wireless BEATS. I recommend them...as long as the rules allow wearing them. (Some tournaments disallow them. But I would never do so. I think they’re great.)

Well, that may be the point for YOU, but it isn't the point for everyone. There's actually a practical reason for wearing headphones while bowling -- to shut out all the distractions. I know people who only put them on while they're up on the lane. Others leave them on throughout. Just curious: If "the point of league" is to "hang out with friends," then how do you explain people who bowl without headphones and sit far away from everyone on the team and keep to themselves? Methinks you're assuming everyone bowls league for the same reason. Clearly, that's not the case.
