I personally don’t believe prodigy is going out of business. Say what you want about them, but their pro team has taken a ton of podium finishes. The discs aren’t the problem, it’s the negative image they have on the internet dragging them down. The disc quality is fine, and their plastic feels great.

Seems a core question may be how much were they paying KJ ? I think Isaac is up at end of 2024. Timing ?

If Prodigy can’t afford KJ and Vaino, they surely can’t afford to keep Issac and Ezra.

It’s interesting how no one seems to mention that kjusa is on a stinker…. What value does he add these days?

Disc golf is contracting. The smaller companies that don't offer anything novel will be first to go. Dave laughs all the way to the bank, again.

Prodigy closes shop. Makes a sappy video… then in 5y they unload a warehouse full of now ‘nostalgic’ molds for $87 per disc. Money.

Why should a company keep paying you $20k+ per month whe neither of those player are top 20 contenders week to week. They signed to an agreement that they are not fulfilling

Prodigy took their manufacturing to China and quality plummeted to the point pros for them would search for 5 year old discs that actually flew well. Tough to sell new discs when even the pros want the old stuff. Also they are killing it with the European tour where they can pay players less and push the product.

The company has been run poorly for years. Not surprising

Prodigy has a handful of really great molds - several of the putters are highly regarded, the A series has some very cool molds (A5 A2), M4 and several driver molds. There are obviously duds in there as well. In top of that, their plastic has of late felt pretty good to me (300, 400, 500). Point is - it feels like they can push plastic without the “team”. Probably they are pulling back on spend, but it stretches belief to me that there is no market for prodigy’s good stuff. If they do go out of business I’m hoping to grab a bunch of the good stuff on clearance.
