Its not a total racist thing, its just most these characters were created way back when things where mostly right. Marvel is more diverse and look out for black characters especially compared to DC

I'm glad they kept him around because his mutant power is unique and potentially powerful. If I recall correctly, the writers who created him moved to different projects and the new writers didn't know exactly how to use him. He was supposed to be gone after the M event, but someone said hold on we might be able to use him. Glad to see him in action again although briefly.

I like how black characters are usually top tier geniuses in Marvel. From Black panther, Riri Williams, Blue Marvel, Moon girl, and now Prodigy. It reduces stereotypes of black people being all muscle, but no brains.

If he can pick up combat training, he could end up as one of the best human level fighters ever. Say he meets Hawkeye, Shang Chi, and Black Panther and retained their training. If he trained his body to its peak, he’d be crazy.

Just came across your channel. I dig the what you present. As someone who was a fan of comics in general, its nice to see the black heroes and villains being talked about. I basically grew up with dc and marvel, but i remember guys oike icon which was my favorite, i also remember blue marvel and bishop, but i think for me whats always been interesting even with static shock ( i watched the cartoon alot) was the story regardless of the character the stories, the good ones drew me in.

I think people are sleeping on what this character. He can't take smilies but he can take knowledge and skills. Imagine this dude worked under task master for a year and did missions with him. Anything Task Master knows he now knows. Imagine if he studied under doctor strange. Now he knows every spell strange does. I think, They don't use him not because he's bidding or useless, but because he potentially breaks the power scaling of anything he's involved with.in theory If he wanted to be could recreate the incident that made blue marvel what he is and become another blue marvel assuming he survived it. He's someone people sleep on but they are lucky marvel decided to make a good guy.

616 Wolverine's only been fighting/around for over 125 years or so. He was born in the 1890s I believe. Old Man Logan's has at least 100 years over than him. Anyway, yeah. This guy definitely has the potential to be one of the top 8 smartest in the 616.

I always tend to get him mixed up with Synch for some reason. Prodigy, Blue Marvel, Monet all fall into the same category about how their intelligence is portrayed. An alternate Monet was even named Know It All.

I think other than bp and storm marvel make their black characters decently op but rarely uses them as the non black writers dont want them in the spot light but marvel can have these great black characters in their roster to look good as a company (diversity) but also so that when a good black writer or a writer that likes black characters comes along, then they can use then in great ways.

It seems hard to write for a character who has no real down sides to his power. It reminds me of Hope from the X-Men. Too powerful in a way that makes it difficult to have credible threats to her safety.

GOOD info on his Great, yet lesser known character. At first I didn't like him because I felt like he was a replacement for killing off Synch. It was like, Everett has TOO much power potential so let's kill him, but bring him back as a different black mutant with a nerfed abilities. But then David grew on me when they showed "His" potential. Similar to Cypher he's definitely a Go-To mutant. The riff he got into with a couple of other mutants and he ended up with a black eye was MADD Bullshit though. Brothers from Chicago don't take crap like that. It always amazes me how they make a character from a real world scenario then give them the opposite personality of an individual from that location. He needs his own storyline... I'm still hoping Ta-Nehisi Coates or Kevin Grevioux will write a one shot that features Synch, Prodigy, Night Thrasher, Cloak, Spiderman (Miles Morales), Gentile, Darwin and Suspot in a 4 on 4 pick up game in the city one night after crushing some baddies. And I didn't forget the Ladies... we could catch a glimpse of Shuri, Silhouette, Monet, Iron Heart, Ms. America and Alloy partying on the town.
