Great tips, especially number 4. I just dusted out my PC with compressed air a few days ago. Good Old Games (GOG) is also a great place to get games for good prices, plus they have some current stuff. Right now they have their autumn sale on. They also have weekly sales. PlayStation and Xbox also always have sales on to be fair, and some of them are excellent. No need to pay $60+ for games if you don't want to on most any platform. I was a PC gamer first and foremost but later started playing shooters on consoles. Took a while to get really good with a controller but practice was key. However, I'm still better with keyboard and mouse than I am a controller with shooters.

Great video! Another mistake people make (and not only beginners) is that when you buy a game from Steam, thinking you actually OWN it. You DON"T! Also, a lot of people buy a gaming chair because they look good. Buy a good ergonomic office chair instead, it's much better money spent.

came by this video while researching for pc gaming. About to get into it so i wanna make sure i know what im doing, thanks for the tips!
@iprodigy672311 ай бұрын
You'll love it. And save money over the long run. When I built mine years ago I researched parts what I wanted my experience to be, just make sure motherboard, cpu, and ram are all compatible. When shopping a motherboard, you don't need a top of the line super expensive board. Pick your board first and look at what it says as far as type of cpu whether its xx gen intel or am4 or am5 amd, then you know what cpu to look into getting. Also on the board specs it'll say use ddr4 or ddr5 or can use both as far as ram and will usually indicate it max memory and memory speed. Then start picking everything else. It's not as confusing as it sounds I promise 😂. When I did mine I bought 1-2 things every payday til I had everything then put it together.
@Sgt_Seagull4711 ай бұрын
@@iprodigy6723 appreciate the tips! to someone who doesn't know anything or hasn't done research to know what those terms you just used are, ya it can be confusing. good advice: if you have a very old pc laying around or borrow a friends’s computer and feel free to remove and reinstall the cpu, the cooler, the ram, ssd, gpu, un plug and plug cables back in anything that you can, so you can get pc building experience and not having to worry about breaking your expensive hardware, also, watch enough pc building tutorials until you feel like you can do it without a problem, and lastly, be patient, building a pc and setting it up takes a while, take 5-10 min breaks every time you’re having a bit of trouble or you’re struggling with something.

I remembered when I got my first gaming pc, the first game I bought was Java edition Minecraft. I didn't wanna spend the amount of money that it would've originally costed me (even though it wasn't expensive, at the same time I didn't wanna spend close to $30 on a game that came out over 10 years ago) so I bought a CD key for about $15ish or so. Noctua air coolers are better than AIO coolers. I used to run custom loops and was top 10 ranked for a while so, I know what I'm doing. With that said, either is generally an upgrade over stock cooling. Noctua coolers don't have the potential to leak water and don't have a pump that can fail. They support new brackets for mounting and their units can be reused over multiple generations. It's where the smart money lies.

One big mistake i made without even realizing (new pc owner here) i went and bought a super dope 4k monitor with a 144hz refresh rate with all the bells and whistles of an expensive 4k montior should have what i didnt realize was that certain graphics cars work best with different resolutions and even older games i play take a huge fps hit becuase im using more frames or pixels on the screen. Basically the main take away from this is sometimes the best you can afford isnt always the best for your needs research your card and your possible needs for a pc before just selecting the new best thing I definitely learned my lesson on this one.

Those are great tips. Thanks for making this video. Personally, I can't stand using the letters as directional controllers. I always game with my left hand on the mouse while using the arrow keys for directions and the keys above those for weapons options and activate/open. I've been trying to find a small stand-alone gaming keyboard to use instead of my full keyboard, but I can only find one that is for left handed use and another one that has the portion of a regular keyboard with the letters used for game controlling on it. I saw a great stand-alone controller years ago, but I can't find anything like it now.

If your trying to do that your better off spending the money on a better build. 8gb gpus are becoming out dated and won't last and are a waste of money. You want/need at least 16gb vram for best performance for everything at any resolution. Unless you want to worry about upgrading all the time and wasting even more money just to have extra parts with no use or to be sold at a major loss. Just future proof it by buying more high-end newer parts. It'll last you for years compared to not working or having constant issues for newer releases. Games are more and more demanding and 8gb will not get it done or leave you dissatisfied trust me. I ended up wasting alot of money on a prebuild that had constant issues when I coulda just spent 600$ more and built from scratch and have top of the line everything. Which is what I ended up having to do and now stuck with a 2nd computer that will be hard to sell even at an extreme loss compared to what I paid.

You forgot to mention that most people only OWN 60Hz monitors so the first step is to make sure you purchase at least a 120Hz Monitor then change the setting to reach that rate. For #5: The biggest advantage of playing on PC is the keyboard and mouse, cheap storage, and the ability of still using an Xbox or PS4/PS5 controller. It's about choice. I prefer hands-down keyboard and mouse over controller any day.
