I feel in a poetic way BAPs music is an anarchy. It goes against conventional kpop. The lyrics which are always very raw and unpolished, uncensored. And even though they aren’t as popular as fans feel they deserve (to which I agree) they lead a rebellion to bring the world to a more balanced view. By talking about and highlighting taboo subjects (such as mental illnesses and corruption) to loving yourself and your ideals. BAP makes me feel like fighting for something.

They agency stopped promote them in South Korea since the lawsuit and just send them every year in World Tour We (the fans) are powerless about it and know that they just need more exposure And I agree with you this song was not for the season but that is what I love about them they never follow the korea trend and just do what they want and love and always try to grew up musically Maybe I'm biased but any other kpop group can relate

You are kind of right. The chorus is something along the lines of “Trust yourself in this moment, put your hands up to the sky, toward your dreams hands up, towards yesterday’s sky, so you can reach high, toward the light, hands up”. You can take that as you’d like, but I feel like it’s about mental illnesses. I know that depression and mental illnesses can make it hard for you to trust yourself, and others, so that’s one of the reasons why I feel like it has to do with mental illness.

you gotta agree with me like this year, B.A.P is proving themselves because never they have released a title song about the cliche prototypes (love, heartbreak, etc.). This year was all about using music to spread awareness. *Wake Me Up* was about depression, *Honeymoon* was about embracing self, and *Hands Up* was about not minding what anybody say. i love b.a.p so much. especially since they're the only idols consistent about using music as their voice.

I felt the same way. When I saw the MV I wasn't that shock as the others songs that they did this year. Perhaps, it's a nice song and we can tell and know this is a B.A.P feeling. So, yes. Let's see what more they're going to show us. BABY

I think that the two b-sides, Moondance and Think Hole, are definitely more unique sounding in comparison to Hands Up and they’re really refreshing to hear. I hope you check them out in your free time whenever you have the chance because you may really enjoy them. I’m kinda glad that the title track brought it back to their old stuff and I like the idea of Hands Up as an anthem and I like its message. But they definitely kept things interesting with the b-sides so I didn’t think this comeback overall was too ‘typical’ or ‘boring’ or whatever.

Hey I agree with about the fact that the Mv wasn't their best but for me I had just to listen the song once and I fell in love with it ( usually I have to listen several times the song to like it but not here ) Without translating the lyrics it gave me a strange feeling, the beat pushed me to ask questions about my life or stuffs like that, you know. Zelo isn't my bias but I love so much his gestures in the Mv and Daehyun's high note omg ( it doesn't change from usual ) but I waited for a reaction from you but you didn't say anything about that. Anyways. I liked the way you move your head while listening x)) Thank you for your reaction 💚

I think this time, the selling point of Hands Up is the lyrics, if you watch together with lyrics, you will have a different view. I'm kinda same with you which i didn't feel much at my first hear, but when i watch along with the lyrics, it hits me hard. B.A.P always rap and sings with the lyrics feel..they are NOT trying hard to be EPIC rap flow or EPIC vocals..they just sing into your heart..

I have to agree to your opinion that this is a typical bap song and that it's nothing new in this sense. Anyways I prefer it over honeymoon especially because of its lyrics. I really recommend reading them because they're as good as the ones if wake me up. I guess even if it's nothing new this song is definitely one of my favorites 😄. Bbuuuut I expected more from the mv and I was a little bit disappointed when the mv came out. Anyways I really enjoyed your reaction! You're always speaking about things other people reacting to mvs doesn't mention 😄

This is more in response to the comments than the video but I'm surprised people aren't crazy about this song, I thought it was loads better than honeymoon by just the melody alone. Also, lack of plot? Warrior, no mercy, power, all had zero plot. I liked this mv because it focused on the choreography, in fact, the only thing missing was spliced shots of the members dancing solo. I like moondance and think hole is my jam but I'm so glad Hands Up is the title track, its anthem melody doesn't need alot of dressing in my opinion. Anyway, glad to hear other people's perspectives :)

I personally reallyyyy love this song and MV! It seems as though people wanted more of a "bang/bass" to the song (especially in the chorus), but if you listen with good headphones, this song has a lot going on, very carefully composed, it just needs more attention and a few more listens tbh. Also, I feel like while this is their "typical" style, its not really. It has this odd chill/melodious vibe to it which their old songs like power, warrior, skydive dont have so I feel like their style is evolving and I really like it. The other songs in the album are very good too, moondance in particular is very unique so please do check it out! :)

I have been waiting for you to react to this video. I think if you compare the production quality of Honeymoon to this one? There's definitely a big difference. Like, is TS actually giving their main artist the treatment it deserves? What I find utterly despairing is that TRCNG (their rookie group) is coming back again with a new song in January - which i would understand is deliberate. They did it with Sonamoo too! Still, anything that distracts from BAP... i'm not too keen on. I'm very sad that this song is not getting more attention because I really honestly LOVE it. I love it. What it needed was more of a narrative in their video though to really get people hyped. It feels like an anthem for the Olympics or a show. GAAAHHH... In any case, at the very least. Thank you for reacting to this and for your honest comments. I'm also happy to know that you are a fan of theirs too. I agreed with you on many points: like Zelo's verses coming up strong (maybe even stronger than BYG --- I'm biased to him but even I can say that Zelo did particularly well). The backup dancers were going hard. I wish the choreography was equally as "hard" - the boys were dancing with power yes. But I think there could be more aggression? STILL, I've been streaming this song non-stop for more than a week and I'm still not tired of it. It is truly my top song in 2017.

I think the reason for this is... B.A.P didn't produce this song because they're working in a full album I think, and this cb was rushed tbh. Lyrics were made by Bang and Zelo, but that's all. Even when I love the song, I through it was going to be more harder. Anyway, thank you for your reaction, I hope you could react more to them in future.

vega lyra same here, and maybe t$ wanted B.A.P to be in last year's shows. And I agree; I loved moondance the most, but Hands up don't sounds like a legit B.A.P title somehow even when I like the song. Anyway, they do a great job with live performances, as common 💕

It doesn't matter if their concept matches the season or not. It is all about the style and art of the music. I really prefer BAP music before EXO and BTS. Their raps is better than BTS for sure, I can admit that. Hands up was a 10/10 to me. I hope BAP continues to make good music and hope they do well next year along with their brother group TRCNG. One last thing, people need to stop blaming TS. Yes I know BAP had a settlement with TS and that they are both on good terms. Since TS has learned their lesson, lets just keep supporting for both sides. Also, we can just blame them for not promoting our boys good enough. It is all about the fans choice on who they like to listen.

if you check out the lyrics, it's not really a party song, it's much more of an anthem imo. also regarding it being smaller scale - i agree, but i think it's because this is just a single album and their company is too broke for three huge scale mvs in a year. also bap might have originally planned to release a full album, but they chose to release a single just to stay relevant and delayed the release of a full album to next year to work on it some more. this comeback felt really rushed in general, but i'm a sucker for bap and really needed some anthem to get me through my finals, so i still loved it :)

Excellent reaction! I do feel you did bring up a lot of valid points about the song and the video. I personally LOVED the setting of the video, but I do agree the way it was filmed and the shots left a lot to be desired in some places in comparison to their other videos (I do feel however the Japanese version of this video had some better editing). When comparing some of the photos for this to the music video, I think the photos captured more of what this MV could have been. I still love the MV, I absolutely love abandoned settings in rural area, but now that you mention it the way it was executed did feel more compact than it should. On the other hand, that could have been done on purpose, as the lyrics of the song is about reaching for the sky and breaking away from things that hold you back, so in that context the compact feel is somewhat fitting if you want to break from it. Overall, I love this comeback, and their live performances for it is amazing (the whistle chants are fantastic especially). It's an encouraging anthem I feel was an excellent way to end the year. The other two tracks on the single is great too, like "Think Hole" seriously needs to be their next MV I swear.

I feel like ever since their hiatus because I heard there was some sort of problem with their company that at the height of taking off it was pulled out from underneath them. Songs like Coffee Shop I didn't care for I feel like didn't fit that powerful edge they had going. Personally I lean towards heavy sounds but doesn't mean I cant enjoy soulful r&b, jazz and etc. B.A.P is gonna have to get back to the days of hyped dance moves and just harder sounds. My opinion personally. I love BTS but BTS definitely rode in on the same wave as B.A.P. B.A.P management needs to step it up for these guys too. Or Bang Yongguk should go Solo and collaborate with other artists. Lol maybe I'm going way too far I don't know. Just know these guys deserve to be doing better.

Totally agree with you on showing more long shots in the video would backup and upgrade the song. But it seems like everytime they had little time to shoot video (I've seen the members talking about how little time they had to shoot at least Wake Me Up and Honeymoon. They wanted to show more but they are not allowed to). And this time they even use substitute for Taehyun for some shots because of "schedule conflict". I like the song but it's not the best of their work. The production of the song is a little weak for me. And the video like you said doesn't support the song as expected. Of course the message in this song is inspiring. But the fact that Bang and Zelo are only participating writing lyrics kind of make me sad. I would like to hear more production, from music to lyrics, by themselves. And if with fully support from their company (which I doubt), they would be able to release more great work. By saying this much, even I'm saying things I don't like about this song and video, I'm true fan of them. Just want to hear more great works from them.

What did not do elevated the song was the beat in the chorus. Vocals are strong but the beat needed to be harder, more grundgy? I liked the verses and the bridge better. Overall the song is fine. Not bad. I have heard worst.

So negative. Either you liked it are you didn't. What's with the season bit. Were they suppose to comeback singing Christmas Caroles. Did you even check the words to the song out. Your opinion though. Like the saying goes "ass holes are like opinions, everybody has one."
