This is my top favorite LOONA song, hands down, some people may say it's basic but I don't care honestly the vocal work on this one along with the Broadway-esque instrumentals and just the whole theatrical feeling the song gives off make it a masterpiece in my eyes. Chuu invented strong vocals. Ok seriously, she has a surprisingly strong voice, for me the most powerful girl in Loona, not only based on vocals. If you watch loonaTV than you know what I mean. The first video with her was like „Oh another shy girl“ but then someone rewired this girl, switched on the power button and now she is THE power girl. Her personality is so bright. It’s unbelievable how she turned the game again. The first change in Loona was Kim Lip, Yves was a new era (ofc, she is supposed to be in the third subunit) but Chuu is special. Heart Attack is so powerful, her voice is powerful, also the meaning of the song is powerful and ofc there is more to recognize than gayness. Almost everything is symbolized and not easy to understand. I think we all need a whole encyclopaedia to understand everything... but maybe it’s not the goal to solve the puzzle, maybe puzzling itself is the goal.

See, i'm a Red Velvet stan so that's what is interesting about Loona, because they have that diversity in genres like Red Velvet. But the thing with loona is i haven't had the time to check out any of their music execpt for Odd Eye Circle and some of the newer stuff. (I think i like the Odd Eye Circle stuff because i come from EDM) I've really like the yyxe EP that came out as well. I'm just saying that i'll have to see what the group as a whole does before i stan, i'll still listen too their music it's just i won't probably stan if i don't like the way OT12 is gonna go. Because i don't think i could stan a group if i only like some of the sub-groups/songs.

chuuchuu PD do not usually comment on vocals, if you’ve noticed or if you have been following his reactions a for a long time. He’d rather comment on the composition or the instrumentals of the songs he’s reacting to. He’d comment on vocals at times if he thinks it’s outstanding but in Heart Attack he didn’t even noticed the vocals. I’m not discrediting Chuu’s talent, I just don’t find it as strong as people claim it to be.

This is my favourite LOONA song, simply for the chorus. I love that they substitute the mediant chord with a Major chord. Usually the third degree of the scale is Minor, but they decided to use a more chromatic melody. So substituting a Major chord in let there be a chromatic approach to the next chord. This makes a silly playful kind of melody. Then at the end they do that descending, dramatic, fall from the relative minor, which leads right into a satisfying ending "You! Attack my Heart~". Add to that, the last iteration gets a classic whole step Disney key change! This song has a lot going on harmonically and I love it.

As much as I fervently stan Queen Lip as my uncontested Loona bias, Chuu definitely has the over-arching vocal technique that I have spent years WAITING for K-pop idols to have. It's so hard to find idols with a truly unique and distinguishable sound. I find that many of their vocals tend to be very simple (even appointed vocalists), albeit nice and pretty, however the restrained technique is so common that it doesn't excite me anymore. It might just be cultural differences and varying standards of taste, but it's like many of them are afraid to incorporate more complex techniques that could aid in establishing a name among SO MANY other groups, especially in the advent of G4 and even G5 K-pop. There is no implication that in the totality of so many idols that none can sing (tho there are some questionable vocals), but it's so refreshing and inspiring when I do find one. When you analyze Chuu's vocals, everything about it seems natural and unforced: her runs, the way her voice slightly cracks at the end of strong not sequences, the way she moves from range to range, her tone, her vibrato (which idols tend to stay away from for some reason?). JUST LISTEN TO SEESAW; BITCH KNOWS SHE IS GOOD. Loona in general has done such a good job at creating a foundation unlike any other group beyond the cookie-cutter visuals and synchronized dancing that is the essence of K-pop. I feel like all of Loona have the potential to sing well, with a few being more exceptional than the others (Haseul, Queen Lip, Jinsoul, and Yves). It might also just be a product of Chuu practicing and developing her voice before her official debut, and as FUCKING BITTER as I am at her for dethroning Kim from 2nd-most-watched solo debut, Chuu's voice is really an objective standout. Homegirl better werk.

BBC being shit at vocal training doesn't help either. Chuu was a trainee for only one month before debut, she knew how to sing since before joining. She can sing in every way really well, as evidenced especially by her solo album last year. I know you made this comment six years ago, but since then vocal standards have improved lately in girl groups, with groups like Nmixx, Aespa, BabyMonster, Billlie, Kiss of Life, Purple Kiss etc.

This is a Christmas song! I always think I hear sleigh bells in the background but I think it's just cymbals? Also, the MV is actually the little matchstick girl. Instead of selling matches that she could use to keep herself warm and mean so little to other people, she's giving away an apple to Yves who ignores her.
