in my personal opinion, i think this song may be the most successful japanese debute song among korea boy groups in recent years. bcs it slips into japanese vibe so much, and it sounds not ackward at all while so many groups just make an intense korea song then put some japanese lyrics into it. honestly this is why i dont think Exo-cbx's japanese songs are always kind of success. but their korean songs are so good. I am a big music fan of Svt, and Svt never disappoints me 😀

nowayes Svt hmm i think it's because svt are really very serious and dedicated with their music. woozi said he wrote the lyrics in korean but then studied japanese with a translator so that he can get the message of the song across well! and with woozi being a big fan of anime and jpop/jrock too i honestly think he nailed making call call call sound like it truly does belong in that genre, and not just as a kpop sounding song. i remember he even said he made one of their korean side tracks 'run to you' mostly for fun but they ended up including it in a mini album and DAMN THAT SONG IS SOOO ANIME OPENING/ENDING VIBE

If Run to You was the classic anime opening, CallCallCall! is the rare anime opening that nobody skips. I love it. I need a dance practice version. As far as the fashion, me and a few Carats were discussing the possibility of the Mods/Rockers/New Wave aesthetic having an influence here, but I like your view with the 90s Yakuza culture influence. There’s also the oddity of changing aspect ratios for every set to suit the given ‘era’ the group belongs in... this is so intricate. It’s so well done, I’m impressed once again.

But I don't know what it is with Seventeen they are like always raising the bar for me in terms of music quality & content.They always try to be innovative whilst retaining their Seventeen sound in all their songs which is why I love them sooooooooooo much. This hands down is one of my favorites video of them, you almost got the dates right btw, according to Twitter, the art director of this mv said that each group represent a famous gang bike; Mingyu, Hoshi, S.Coups, and Seungkwan are from the Rockers and Woozi, DK, Jeonghan, The8, and Wonwoo are from The Mods and both gangs are from the 60's and eternal rivals, you can search for the bikes on google it seems that they replicated that mirror bike so well lol. the third group are Vernon, Dino, Jun, and Joshua and they are from the 80's based on The capsules from the manga/anime Akira, that's why their framing is different and the aesthetics give you a different era vibe, they also might have psychic abilities since that manga is about that, so this well made AU they also include time travel because it seems that minghao somehow went to the future(80's in this mv) and stole the grey phone and took it to the past ( you can see the sparks and how the fame changes when he took the phone and also when Dino and the other members of the capsules chasing after him ) and that how the whole war between The Mods and Rockers started xD

Woozi is sooooo freaking cool and handsome in this MV hahaha so i understand PD's feelings when he saw Woozi! He's my bias so i was screaming when i first saw the MV! And yesss The8's style in the MV was "omg"! And i'm guessing you are referring to "Run to you" as the rock song in their Director's Cut. It was like a song Woozi made for fun because of his love for anime, which is why it's a very "anime opening theme" -like song. Which i loved a lot. He said it himself that he didn't know that the song would make it into one of their albums because he wrote it for fun. And Woozi actually writes the Japanese songs in Korean first, then work with a translator for the Japanese lyrics. But i suppose he understands the trends in Japan pretty well since he loves anime so much. Oh and for both "Call Call Call" and "Happy Ending" they did perform the Korean version live, you can go check those out too. I think the Korean version sounds fine too.

Love this song. I need Seventeen to keep up this rock vibe. The kid in me who was raised on classic American rock is just loving it. It's not over Clap for me, but I find they both give very different vibes. Like Clap has always seemed almost grunge rock inspired to me. While Call Call Call is a cleaner rock sound.
