Producers Cut of "Anchors Aweigh" and "Haunted"
NEXT EPISODE Chain of Command • Chain of Command
Series: Dreadnought Dominion
Director: Scotty Whitehurst
Screenwriter: David R Wrenn & Frank Parker
Media: Live-Action
Released: 13 April 2015

It has been two years since the Dominion was nearly destroyed in a savage, unprovoked attack. The Captain has been absolved of wrong doing, the ship has been repaired, and the re-launch is only hours away.
Now, when the Captain (Commodore Grissom) finds that he is riddled with self doubts and guilt, he receives help from a very unlikely place.
We shot two episodes in December 2013 and then January 2014, the first being “Anchors Aweigh” which introduced the characters, then we returned to film “Haunted”. It was decided to throw all energy into adding FVX, sound and music into the second episode as it offered more to the viewer. After releasing both episodes, we really wanted to do a "Producer's Cut" of both episodes so the story could be shown in chronological order and set us up for our third episode. WHY watch this again? Well, there are some things that make it worth the watch. We updated a few of the VFX, which when I watched it, was like seeing it for the first time. We updated our opening credits with our finished Dreadnought Dominion Logo and redid the title sequences with a more classic 3rd Season TOS feel. The entire episode also has classic TOS music throughout, complete with "stingers" for what we HOPE are our funny or dramatic moments just like we were used to watching the Original Series. The original Dreadnought Dominion theme still graces our opening as that is a GREAT piece of music! Thanks to Ken Thompson for the GREAT VFX, and Tony Lunn for the equally GREAT opening theme for Dreadnought Dominion. Both these artists gave their time and energy to give our show the original flare that it needed. THANKS SO much!.. Also to David "Randy" Wrenn for being there with me as we both learned video and sound editing. We both LOVED adding the beeps every time someone pushed a button on the bridge!. - Gary Davis

It took me watching a few episodes to realize this playlist is in reverse chronological order. So now I am starting at the beginning...

That two episodes had a great and hilarious script!I like the humor in it. Also great to see all the little details like the commodore taking the last seat in the bar without offering the ensign his own. Or the next table obviously eavesdropping on the conversation. Or the old XO who was hillarious and an absolute gem. Just a great show! I didn't know this show until the Trekyards EP.

Found out about this series through Trekyards; thank you for helping to flesh out and bring life to the TOS dreadnaught starships, and for introducing some interesting characters in a good ensemble. I'll enjoy catching up and adding you to my Trek head canon!

I enjoyed the brooding nature of the commodore and I’m looking forward to watching the series arc.

Huh, I though fan films were dead because of the Draconian CBS/Paramount requirements. Weird that this *just* shows up in my algorithms. I'll have to check this out. Subbed!

We all were reeling after the guidelines went into effect. Many thought it was the end of Star Trek fan films. Some threw in the towel. But we made adjustments and kept going. Ironically, this seems to be the golden age of Star Trek fan films.

@@dreadnoughtdominion8988 Nice. Did I also see that Axanar is coming back? Isn't that the group that ruined it for everyone? Anyway, yes - pleased to see fan films come back. Watched the last Farragut offering about a week ago.

just sayin....maybe change the clock?
@dreadnoughtdominion8988
@dreadnoughtdominion8988 Жыл бұрын
You have a point. An analog clock in the 23rd century does look out of place. But there was method behind our madness. The idea was to show that he had been anxiously sitting there several hours waiting for this communication. So we wanted a clock in the background that would update every few seconds (showing the passage of time.) I purposely chose an analog clock so that the viewer could more easily see the passage of time. Actually, come to think of it, an analog clock draws more attention to it's self simply because it seems out of place. So bottom line: You're right. It is a little weird, but it was intentional.

Not a bad episode, could use a bit of post work on audio in some places. Maybe loop in some lines again to make them clearer but otherwise an entertaining watch.

You obviously are joking. You do know what a fan film is, right? OK. I'll explain. A fan film is when a bunch of fans of a TV series or movie get together and make a film based on that series or movie. They are (in most cases) amateurs. The actors are usually casted due to their friendship with the producers and/or their love for the source material. They are almost never chosen (or excluded) based on their physical appearance. So if some of us are overweight, frankly, we don't really care. Also most of us have no ambitions of being professional actors. Therefore, paying for acting lessons or coaches would be kind of stupid. We don't make money on these films. As a matter of fact, we each spend hundreds of dollars for our expenses ... and that money is gone. We will never get that money back. They pay their own expenses, just for the joy of creating something that we hope other people will enjoy. If you can't wrap your head around all that, I suggest you go watch something else... please. Oh, and thanks for watching!

@@dreadnoughtdominion8988 oh...triggered I see. Well, when you post on the internet you open yourself up the harsh opinions and viewpoints. Sorry you're a snowflake. But seriously, would you want the best representation of the characters you create and interpret?? The acting doesn't even make up for the unfit and unhealthy look of the Fateration of Planets you depict here. Try again.

In all seriousness you may want to pay closer attention to camera angles an depth of field for your shots. Also lighting doesnt always have to be 360 degree lighting all the time...look at ST generations and discovery. And shitty greenscreens are the worst. Study more before you throw it against the wall. There are plenty of courses and equipment and knowledge out there to make a bett6ter project.
