EXCELLENT video. Thank you for showing me how easy it is to reload with the MEC 600 JR Mark V. 12 gauge is plentiful to find, but feeding my several .410 bore tools is challenging. I just wish MEC would sell the .410 reloader with apparatus to reload 3” AND 2.5” shotshells. An additional $199.99 seems like a whole lot to require for the ability to shoot both versions of the same bore, particularly when no additional fee is required for 12 gauge 2.75” and 3”. Grace and Peace

My dad bought he’s Mec jr when he was 14 years old ,he’s now 70 years old. I grew up using this press and stile continue to use it to this day and now my son is using it with me the old girl stile makes a great reload , I need to freshen it up a little and get some different size powder bushings . One of the best presses ever for a working man

I'm about 3 weeks into the learning curve on my Mec 600 Jr, Mk 5 in 410 bore. The machine is very well built, easy to understand and easy to use. I've made about 200 rounds so far with no hitches whatsoever. All I needed to add were reloading supplies and a good reloading book. And for sure, there a significant cost savings when reloading 410 bore.

I have had and used 3 of these machines for many, many years now, and never unhappy with the wonderful, factory like results. This machine may take a bit of getting used to for the crimp settings, but due to it being almost, "too simple". My crimps, both 6 & 8 look as good or better than the factory rounds on all of my 2 3/4" & 3" loads. The other wonderful function of this simple, inexpensive unit is that of being able to "feel" your shot load and wand compress. I also load my Lee cast 1 oz. slugs in this machine with the greatest of ease, using multiple brands of 12 gauge hulls. I can't imagine any shotgun shooter without a MEC 600 Jr .

I have had a 600 Mark V for a number of years. I also have a PW machine as well. I recently added a new gage to the 600 (16 gage). The final crimp on station V rod stem threads on the machine were inoperative as I could not thread the stem so as to attach the final crimp cylinder on to the bracket. Luckily I had a 5/16 x24 tap to rerun the threads. Worked great after that. The MEC machine is a lot easier to unload the components (shot, powder) . Tilt it back put the caps on the bottles and store them away. The MEC does make a better crimp than the PW.

Thank you for taking the time to comment. The threads in the turret head may have been a little rough for the crimp punch. It was a good idea to tap the hole for the new punch. You can email and call us directly if you have any further comments or questions. 800-797-4632 or reloadersales@mecoutdoors.com .

Hi Nathaniel, Thanks for commenting. The single stage reloaders such as the Mark V and the Sizemaster models can be converted to different gauges with an additional die set. The progressive reloaders are available in all gauges although they can not be converted to a different gauge. If you have any further questions, please call us at 1-800-797-4632 or email reloadersales@mecoutdoors.com.

Hi Thomas, The MEC powder bushing chart will show all the powders and the amount they will drop in grains. This chart is only an average received on a single stage reloader so it needs to be verified with a grain scale before using. The MEC powder bushing chart can be seen and printed off from the MEC Outdoors website (link below) The amount of powder to use will need to be obtained in the powder manual. If you have any further questions, please email us at: reloadersales@mecoutdoors.com www.mecoutdoors.com/Content/Images/uploaded/pdfs/PowderBushingChart.pdf

Hi J R, We do manufacture a charge bar for 1 ¾ oz. of lead shot #302134. This can be used on the 600 JR Mark V although the loads I saw in the powder manual were for a 3” shell. The Mark V will come with the parts needed to convert the press to 3” if needed. If you have any further questions, please email us at reloadersales@mecoutdoors.com or call 1-800-797-4632

I have a 600 Jr. What's the difference between the 600 Jr and the 600 Jr MK V? Can my 600 Jr be converted to a MK V? What would be required? I just retired and I'm wanting to get back into shooting clay birds. Any Assistance would be greatly appreciated.
@MECOutdoors
@MECOutdoors 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Todd, The 600 jr was manufactured between 1968-1982. In 1982 it received modifications to the crimp dies and wad guide and was renamed the 600 JR 82. In 1985 this model was once again updated to the Mark V. The Mark V contained all zytel crimp dies and a U shaped eject bolt which now worked with high or low brass shells and could easily be converted to 3” shells if needed along with a couple extra parts in the parts bag. The 600 JR can be converted to the Mark V by replacing the old steel dies with the current zytel dies and then also changing over the deprime station to the current U shaped eject bolt. If you have any further questions, please call us at 1-800-797-4632 or email us directly at reloadersales@mecoutdoors.com. Thank you

Is there a video on adjusting 12 2 3/4 to 3" do i need a diffrent support tube on the decaper? Its a brand new 600 jr
@MECOutdoors
@MECOutdoors 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Anthony, The conversion for 3” are different depending on the model reloader you have as they are different for the 600 JR and the 600 JR Mark V models. The 600 JR will require the conversion kit #63 to convert to 3”. This kit comes with a longer support tube and instructions on the adjustments needed. The 600 JR Mark V model comes with the extra 3” spacer needed and does not need a longer support tube. The instructions for the Mark V 3” conversion will be in one of the back pages of the manual. If you have any further questions, please email us directly at reloadersales@mecoutdoors.com or call 1-800-797-4632 we are available Mon-Fri 8-4pm central time.

@@MECOutdoors what is needed to load Lyman slugs on the Mark v
@MECOutdoors
@MECOutdoors 3 жыл бұрын
@@jimgilmore893 thanks for commenting! The reloading of slugs can be partially accomplished by using a MEC Mark V reloading press. The formulas for reloading slugs must be followed exactly as the manufacture indicates. The shell can be ran through the depriming, repriming, powder and wad insertion stages. The shell would then need to be removed for the installation of the slug or buckshot. The crimp can be either roll crimped ,with an after market roll crimper or a star crimp can be placed back onto the shell depending on the manufactures instructions. A roll crimper can be purchased through a mail order place such as Ballistic Products at 1-888-273-5623 or www.ballisticproducts.com.
