Make sure the block heater on your Duramax is working properly. If it is no longer heating a faulty block heater cord may be the culprit. Common issues are a short in the wire or other physical damage.

I understand this was recorded a while back. My Duramax has the cord cut off as part of a recall. Not sure what the fix is. its 16F this morning and a engine block heater with cord sounds like a good thing. Can you give me any insight into this?

The cord is cut off completely? That sounds like a terrible way to complete the recall. Do you know if the block heater is still in the block? Installing a new cord should be all you would need to get you up and going.

@@merchantautomotive I call my GM shop and a true fix is on the way. I was put on a list to receive the new and improved cord when they arrive. Such a weird deal. Have a great day.
