@@dionysis84 man I freaking love it! Has some weight to it. Doesn’t feel like some cheaply made rifle. You can see and feel the quality DD puts in it. And it’s deadly accurate. I’ve only shot it up to 200 yards total but once sighted it the round goes where you aim it. I’d highly recommend you getting one if you’re considering it. It’s so damn fun to shoot (if you have the ammo nowadays)..

Thanks. Ammo is back in stock on a few sites. Just went nuts and ordered a ton. ATF is doing some crazy stuff right now so I'm stocking up on ammo and extra parts. I really want another higher end rifle. I have a pws piston upper but I didn't know it takes proprietary parts. Was going to get a kac or lmt and same issue, you have to send it in if there is an issue or get a specific part through them. DD isn't like that so in my opinion, DD & BCM are the next best 2 companies after kac, lmt, & pws. Definitely looking for an upper.

@@dionysis84 I agree and ammo is definitely more plentiful now and slowly going down in price. Wish it was at pre pandemic levels where I could get 1000 rounds of 5.56 for $280 lol. Those were the days…but yes if you go high end rifle the DD M4A1 is perfect! I added an Eotech and magnifier with a VFG and it’s a blast to shoot. Added some Knights Armament flip up sights with a Blue Force sling. Only thing I need now is a sure fire mounted light but every time I have money for one I go for ammo instead lol. Lemme know if you end up going with one. Thankfully I bought mine in 2019 and it was $1700. Last I checked on one of these a couple months ago it was $2500ish so hopefully you can nab one for a few hundred less!

Purchased my M4A1 two years ago, Put close to three thousand rounds through it and has worked flawlessly, [ no jams ] what so ever. I wish I could put a suppressor on it though without taking it to a gunsmith to remove the muzzle....

Is there an attachment that fits on the barrel allowing the suppressor to screw on to it? This is a serious question because I do want to suppress my M4. thanks

I love Daniel Defense Rifle, this would be my next to die for, M4a1 mil spec. I’ve own Springfield but deep down inside my soul and heart tells me this would make me happier than any firearms I’ve own. Can’t wait to own one if I can save up. All my Gun Friends in Anchorage Alaska would be very jealous if I’ve went and got one for my Gun Collection.

Keep your Springfield but get one of these. Larry Vickers tested this and dropped it out of a helicopter at 100 feet. They blew it up, ran it over, drowned it in mud etc. Keep going. It's next my list also.

@@Cheaps928 try ordering it through local dealer and haggle with them over price. Being they really have no actual work or overhead involved other than FFL paperwork they should be willing to take a slimmer deal on it not like they will be keeping it in stock and paying any type of interest on it.

Chose the *Rail* for SOCOM use 🙃. Nonetheless...i have a Colt M4A1 BlockII, and a DDM4A1. Less the SOCOM Profile Barrel, i like my DD more. Is what it is 🤷🏼‍♂️

@ts8605 Actually, DD is now a vendor for both rails and barrels for SOPMOD Block II rifles (except for the ODAs running the Geissele URGI; for that program, DD supplies barrels and Geissele supplies the rails). But the receivers are still from Colt guns. So a typical Block II M4A1 or MK18 today will now be a hybrid Colt/DD gun. Jim Ross exaggerates somewhat, but it’s partially true.

Hey man you can send your rifle to adco firearms in Ohio and they’ll remove the pinned muzzle device and pin a warcomp on it for you. That’s what I’m doing I literally picked up my M4A1 today I can’t wait to put a surefire RC2 on it!

To be fair, unless you have a full auto switch, heavy barrels aren’t really needed imo

Brownell’s offers a custom M4A1 URG that they order from DD which does have a SOCOM profile barrel (though no M203 notch, in case that matters to you). If that’s what you want, you should go order from Brownell’s when they’re in stock. Also, the SOPMOD Block II clone build that DD briefly offered last summer has the same barrel.

Jim Ross is mistaken. You can’t get the M4A1 with the black RIS II from DD; that option is only available for the MK18. (This was true even in 2019, when this video was made.)

Never was…he’s mistaken. Only the MK18 has ever been available in all-black from the factory. If you want an all-black M4A1, you’ll have to get the factory config and add the black RIS II yourself.

Buy the Brownell’s stripped upper which they order as a custom job from DD.

@@mrrod3004 Yeah, they don’t. The Brownell’s stripped upper is your best bet if you are OK that it has a heavier SOCOM barrel. Otherwise, you can take the factory upper to a gunsmith to get the flash hider removed.

Jake Mccloskey little gaps moving parts I agree but accuracy and lower receiver is important , I grow up in Russia and we assembled and disassembled AK's in school I know what should shake and for what, during the hard work ak gets hot and never jam because of gaps in correct places, but not receiver will be shakes from barrel this is absurd to say this is OK
