Monetization Framework for Interview - Define Product (What it is + How it works) - Users (Who are the users - mention different kinds and their needs) - Mention Monetisation Models that best fit - Prioritise model that aligns with user needs + aligns with business model + vision of the company - Monetisation Solutions Bonus - Success Metrics - Trade offs - Summary ( vision for X product to enable monetization who has Y users + prioritised model Z + solutions R )

went over this right before an interview , and did not pass it , the most critical part is missing here is how we find the right user segments for the monitization prioritize them you mainly cover models here but its not worth skipping the most important step.

For many product sense questions, we typically mention the user journey and its pain points. However, in monetization type questions, I'm curious why we don't need to mention pain points.

There are two kinds of problems, based on their origin. 1. Origin is Business: Monetization, Retention, ARPU, Activation etc. 2. Origin in Customer: Not sufficient sellers on the platform, bad UX etc. No customer gonna feel the need that I am not being monetized. Hence, we need not mention pain points in this case.

I really love your content as they are so logical and meaningful . Could you also share some impactful websites and channels that can help us keep up with the latest trends. Maybe not techcrunch type, but something like Google IO keynotes which talks about a plethora of new & innovative initiatives taken by companies

Do you have a WhatsApp or Telegram community? Nowadays every PM hang around these tools as the friction of engagement is quite low on these platforms compared to others like Slack or Discord etc.
