It wouldn't make any real difference. Even if the bullet was actually stopped by the armor, the kinetic energy transfer would still destroy the can. That said, it would probably look *awesome* in slo-mo, which is the real reason someone should try this. 😁

Although the "bulletproof cusie" is unpractical in every way, they tested it unfairly. It was rated to stop 9mm, not a crossbow bolt. The bolt has very different energy transference than a bullet does

Pretty sure kevlar isn’t built to handle ARROWS Might be wrong but when kevlar was first being invented, a scientist jokingly said they wanted to shoot it with a bow. The other scientists laughed at the idea, until the arrow just pierced it effortlessly. Now I know the product they shot wasn’t specifically said to be made of kevlar, but I’m pretty sure most modern body armour isn’t built to handle arrows at all

the reason an arrow pierced through is because an arrow is designed to hold its shape and penetrate for maximum damage, a bullet, depending on what type you have, is designed to dump its energy into the target and deform/fragment which is why bulletproof armor of the kevelar variety is decent at stopping handgun rounds

To be entirely fair, kevlar soft body armor isn't designed to protect against bladed projectiles like crossbow bolts, because it's a latticed fiber that strengthens from blunt force impacts. This is why it works against bullets. I call this a bad rejection on account of faulty test parameters.

The shoe weapons are great, so is the cross necklace. Anything that doesn’t look like a weapon but is. Especially for women. Going on a run, out for a walk, to the store, etc etc. having extra protection is smart. Men aren’t raised with caution bred into them, they aren’t usually targets. But we are constantly being aware of our surroundings, having back up plans, levels of protection, etc. I think men just don’t fully grasps that sometimes.

I want to see women reviewing the self defense weapons. Because some of these seem so valid and are ones I could of carried around in middle/high school when creepy men approached me on the way home(the hat wouldn't have been confiscated by staff). Even now, as a grown woman, I carry around self defense weapons that pass as cute key chains(like the hello kitty knuckledusters in the right size). Even the spiked shoe lace thing would do well for shin kicks, no need for excessive round houses.

Your cute little pepper spray? Maybe 12 feet. Tasers and that bad idea of a hat? Grabbing distance. 90% of the time men are physically stronger than women. It's a fact. A bad guy will rip that hat out of your hands before you can get a swing in. It's called being smart. Do I WANT to kill someone? No. If I did i would have shot that guy regardless of running away. But you bet I will drop someone who is attempting to do me harm without hesitation.

Kevlar is made of many small fibers that dampen the force of a bullet impact. but a crossbow bolt just stabs through the kevlar.
