Q: How do you document the 3 and distribute them across the ORG? Is it just a messy doc? Assume you have some directional findings from your research: what are the best ways to inform a wider group about them? As most product designers, I have used (and currently using) tools like Confluence, but willing to level up my game!

Hey Ivan. The messy working doc is really intended to help consolidate your various insights and help you build an informed perspective. When it comes to making things more solid, it's not really a great tool. When we're ready for that, there's a couple of things to think about; "What's the audience, and what do they need from this?" The important thing is finding the right level of detail/abstraction, and making sure the artefact is a good one for how it's intended to be used. For example, for my team, we're going to use it to inform our decision-making, so we'd have some kind of artefact that goes into detail around what we're focusing on and why. For our Sales and Marketing teams, that level of detail is probably way too much, and so I'll also have a much more concise artefact that addresses their primary concerns (eg. the customers we want to target [or not], the areas we'll be focusing on [or not], the outcomes we intend to drive etc). Keep in mind, at this point people from all of those teams will have been involved in the work, so there should be no surprises, but I think what you're getting at here is the far broader communication to folks who may not have been directly involved. You've collaborated with the right people to build your perspective and your strategic direction, and now you're thinking about what the right medium and message are for different groups in your business. We just refreshed our strategy based on what we learned last year. This resulted in two documents; a strategy doc (a detailed narrative covering all the bases, and linking out to relevant research), and a cliff notes style strategy summary doc (much shorter, more direct, more memorable) to use in conversations with folks who weren't directly involved. Hope that helps 👍
